Game Review
In one of the best games of the Valley Christian tournament, Hesperia Christian succumbed to Nipomo 63-56. This was a game that HCS lost in the final five minutes because of poor play, turnovers and mental lapses. Up until the five minute mark in the fourth quarter, HCS was in control of the game and Nipomo. But in the fourth quarter they lost to Nipomo 24-15. HCS started the quarter ahead by two points. Nipomo's Dominique Saunders and Lucas Marsalek were able to get shots off, many that were undefended. You just can't let the other team's stars do that in the championship quarter. Saunders ended up with 25 points and Marsalek got 21, 15 of them three point shots. It was known from scouting that Marsalek could shoot threes but HCS left him open and he caused a lot of damage. Even at the two minute mark HCS was only behind 56-53 but Nipomo was able to quickly raise the score to 63-53, ending any chance the Patriots had to come back.

The Patriot turnover to assist ratio was again atrocious at 17 to 7. THe Patriot defense which had been so strong the night before and even in the first three quarters dissipated. The Patriots lacked focus and intensity when it mattered most. HCS is now 6-5 and will meet Kern Valley next.

Game Preview
