1 (1) Hesperia Christian 17-6 (8-0) Wins over Bethel Christian 69-49 and Joshua Springs 62-51(minus injured senior star Mike Petersen). Defense has been the key to success this season. Are playoff bound.
2 (2) Capistrano Valley Christian 18-5 (8-0) Killed Oxford Academy 67-36. Three very good players in Barry, Sfera and Cooper. Two games left, one against tough St Margaret. In playoffs with their eighteen wins and will be a very tough opponent. 3 (3) Hillcrest Christian GH 13-9 (5-1) Hillcrest Christian GH is the defending champ in Div VAA and again has made playoffs. Lost in OT to RHP and Santa Clarita Christian. They then lost 54-39 to New Roads. Loss to SCC in SCC's lousy gym may have cost the Eagles the Heritage championship. Rutherford, Dacey and Halliday have got to get back on track, which I am sure they will. You still don't want to run into them in playoffs early. 4 (4) Pacific Hills 17-5 (2-4) 1-1 this week, losing to Valley Christian but avenging earlier loss to Village Christian. This team is very good and has only lost to St Margaret out of their league. They were first team to qualify for CIF post season tourney. Have Windward and LA Baptist left on schedule. Someone in playoffs will have a tough time with this team as a #3 league finisher or at large team. 5 (5) Tarbut v Torah 15-2 (4-2) Beat Saddleback Valley Christian 40-39 in final seconds. Ends season in playoff style against a tough Renaissance Academy. Team gets no respect from CIF polls but I like their chances. They are as good as they have ever been since I have been watching them the last four years. You need four or five good defenders to beat them and need to be very physical. 6 (6) Calvary Chapel Moreno Valley 17-1 (7-0) 14 game winning streak but only Saddleback Valley Christian was even close to being tough on that schedule. Only loss is to Woodcrest Christian by 3 points. 7 (7) La Verne Lutheran 17-4 (5-0) Barely beat CSDR in a game missing MacElroy. Only have Upland Christian left that is tough. In playoffs already and leading Metro League at the moment. 8 (8) Upland Christian 15-3 (4-1) Only team left on schedule with ability to beat them is Metro League leader, Lutheran La Verne. Beat Riverside Christian this week 95-58. Only losses were a 17 point loss to Arrowhead Christian, a loss to Western Christian and loss to La Verne Lutheran 38-32. 9 (9) St. Anthony 12-12 (4-4) Well, the Saints slid into the playoffs. Presently are in third in Camino League at 4-4. Lost to Mary Star and beat St Paul 45-40. 10 (10) Liberty Christian 17-6 (6-0) Beat Eastside Christian handily 59-47. Two easy games left. 11 (11) Ribet Academy 10-13 (3-4) They have 2 games left, including oneHarbor League game with Community Harvest. They can get into playoffs with 2 straight wins or by beating C-Harv. Will be a photo finish in the Harbor League. 12 (12) Holy Martyrs 14-8 (5-5) Team is on a 3 game losing streak and still must play Providence and Buckley. Not a good way to go into playoffs. 13 (13) La Sierra Academy 15-4 (6-0) Lost to Redlands Adventist Academy this week 68-66 and won a forfeit vs Noli Indian. Schedule is not strong which may hamper them in the playoffs for which they are already qualified. 14 (14) Eastside Christian 12-6 (5-2) Only six losses are to Tarbut v Torah, Delphi Academy. Liberty Christian twice, Capo Valley Christian and Riverside Christian. Schedule is weak minus six games which they lost. But they are in playoffs! 15 (15) Saddleback Valley Christian 11-11 (3-4) Lost heartbreaker to Tarbut v Torah 40-39. Need one more win to get 12 and should finish third in San Joaquin League. Very tough team to beat when they are focussed. 16 (16) Community Harvest 7-10 (3-3) Can only make playoffs by finishing third in Harbor. 2 games left vs Ribet and New Roads. They seem to win when they absolutely must win. Who knows who will come out of Harbor besides Price? 17 (17) Santa Clarita Christian 13-6 (6-1) Leading the Heritage League after upset OT win over Hillcrest Christian. Huge win for this school. 18 (18) Newbury Park Adventist 12-3 (12-3) Made playoffs. I have not seen them this season.
Laguna Blanca 10-5 (6-1), Boron 11-8 (5-2), Highland Hall 10-4 (6-1), Mesa Grande 11-11 (5-4), Apple Valley Christian 12-8 (5-3), and Maricopa 8-11 (3-4)
