MY POETRY

Come into the darkened night,
whispers a voice undercover,
forget your reservations
embrace it like a lover.

Come into my hidden world
where stars like jewels shine;
in the shadow of the moon,
very soon you would be mine.

Shake off your lethargy,
trust my silent word,
don’t be afraid of the darkness,
your voice too, is heard…

Close your eyes and accept me
and promises will keep,
capture the magic of the night,
drift ever gently into sleep.

Echo of My Dreams

Shadows of moonlight
echo of my dreams,
shining softly in the night
still reflecting a gleam
that sweetens the evening,
sadness I have known;
tonight’s for beginning
a whisper of my own.
Maybe I couldn’t hear
the yearnings of my heart,
but they won’t disappear
and the won’t fall apart.
Against the shadows
the moon whispers still,
if you don’t hear echoes,
your hidden dreams will.

Eyes Speak Silently

Eyes speak silently
what words can’t express
a story to be told
precious and timeless.
I read who you are
the truth they confess,
tour deepest dreams and desires,
each failure and success.
There’s a light in your eyes
even in the darkness
that sends a message to me
like a soft caress.
I know from a glance
I don’t have to guess,
what you want to say
and I acquiesce.
Your eyes smile thankfully
I’ve seen your worst and best.
Am I still your friend?
My eyes show the answer’s yes.

Whom have I gotten to know oh so well after so long
it is you I find hidden completely in plain view
I want to explore each little thing about you
the ins, outs, ups and downs, all the pieces
what secret mysteries will be unraveled
when I penetrate straight to your heart
what surprise waits to confront me?
I thought I knew all there is
but now I understand
who you really are
is no surprise
what I am
you are
me.

Hear Me If I Whisper

Hear me if I whisper,
see me though I hide,
trust my heart for it’s yours
given to you with pride.

But I’m also bashful
whenever I meet your eyes,
shivering like a child
before a birthday surprise.

Touch my hand when I’m cold
the truth so plainly shows,
can’t you see it in my face
maybe you already know…

I’ll whisper it softly
needing help from above;
we’ve been friends for so long
but now it’s time for love.

Take THAT

I see you there you silly thing
I know all about the trouble you bring,
sometimes you’re huge, sometimes you’re small
sometimes it’s hard to see you at all.
Walking along on a warm summer day
all of a sudden you’re in the way
the sun’s shining now, yet you’re here
why didn’t you disappear?
A car zooms by I make a mad dash,
it’s too late and I feel a cool splash.
I’m all wet but it doesn’t matter
you don’t care that I got spattered.
Oh I’ll get even, through you I’ll muddle,
take THAT- you insignificant puddle!

A profile, a face
within a crowd
just commonplace.
Except for a look
a hint, a trace,
those almond eyes;
with strength and grace
command respect
begin the chase.

No time to forget,
turn back nor erase,
those eyes will follow;
it won’t be a race.

With all the aggravations,
disappointments, complications
sorrows, joys,
laughter, noise,
still life endures despite all odds,
though seldom easy, sometimes hard,
until the end we can’t foretell,
life survives heaven and hell.

tears
wet, salty, sad
moving quickly down my cheeks
endless as the ocean
until the storm subsides.

Andy’s Vow

This I promise myself,
this I vow,
to stop this ocean of tears
from destroying me somehow.
I look into the distance
far beyond tomorrow
and I can plainly see
the smiles I still might know.
I don’t deserve such heartache
the hurt that’s shaken my soul,
fighting my way through isolation
loneliness takes its toll.
Wherever this road will lead me
every single step will be hard,
but I refuse to relinquish hope
even though it’s battered and scarred.

So I make this solemn promise
born of sadness and pain,
I’ll persevere till I triumph
I will find happiness again.
