JAVELIN S-15
The Javelin S-15 is a light weight man portable surface to air missile system which is employed mainly to defend units in the front from enemy air attack.
The role of the Javelin is to provide point protection for a specific ground target from a very low level air threat.
The Javelin S-15 was procurred for the Canadian Army in 1992 as a replacement for the Javelin G/L. The Javelin G/L saw service from 1990 to 1992 to replace thr Blowpipe Missile.
