The Nine Giants

Genre: mystery, historical fiction

Rating:**

Summary: Alexander Marwood, that gloomiest of tavern-keepers, has decided to sell the Queen's Head. This is bad news for Westfield's Men, because the prospective buyer is a notorious play-hater. As it turns out, the selling of the Queen's Head is only a small part of a large scheme by the Lord Mayor of London and all his croonies, and only by foiling this plot will the Queen's Head be saved.

I did not like this plot at all. It most definitely is a lesser sort of mystery. The main character, Nicholas, seems very two dimensional. As always, the characters and setting are the most captivating part.
