Bring Me The Head of Prince Charming
by
Roger Zelazny and Robert Sheckly
Genre: light fantasy

Rating:** 1/2

Summary: It is almost 1000 AD, and time for the Millennial contest, where the forces of dark and light battle it out to see who will rule mankings destiny for the next thousand years. Azzie Elbub is tired of working in a pit in hell. He, he felt, was cut out for bigger and better things. So when his idea for Evil's entry in the Millennial contest is accepted, he goes straight to work. However, certain things do not go as planned, and these glitches threaten to bring down his entry, and Azzie with it.

This is an excellent concept, but I wish the authors would have delved a little more into the complexities the story only hints at. The writing is solid and fast-paced, and the setting and characters are well turned out. The authors use a light touch, which was a very good idea. This could have easily become one of those dark and depressingly serious pieces of fantasy.
