If At Faust You Don't Succeed
by
Roger Zelazny and Robert Sheckly
Genre: humorous fantasy

Rating:***

Summary: The next millennial contest between good and evil has arrived. Representing good is the Archangel Michael, who is not above bending the rules to win. Evil's representative is Mephistophiles, who is to take Dr. Faust to various times and give him a choice of things he must do. Unfortunately, instead of Faust, he has taken a man known as Mack the club...

This is my favorite of the three books. Although it has the weakest premise, the ideas presented here and the fun I had along the way make it the very best. The same tight, light style of writing is present here too.
