Recently, I am giving a lot of thought to what I want to do after I die. Between lives, there is an indeterminate term which I think should be used to its best potential. Its not death I am discussing here. Rather, it is like a high school student planning for college. I have lived many moons. Although I do not plan to pass over any time soon, it is best to be prepared. I wonder if there are job opportunities on the other side.
It is not too early to give some thought and preparation to relocating to a new society. Based on clues I have discovered in my reading adventures, the opportunities behind the veil are unlimited.
Not wanting to return to Earth again, the thought occurred to me that there might be a way to jump a few notches and remain on the non-physical side. Certainly, I don’t wish to spend a hundred years rehashing activities from this lifetime. That’s too much like doing penance.
Seth, channeled by Jane Roberts, gave us some insight as to what it is like beyond material reality. While Roberts was in a trance state, Seth was speaking to another professional, he announced: “I am in education.” This simple statement implied volumes. He follows a career. He has prepared for this career. There is some sort of structure on the other side.
I am positive that I am not a candidate for teaching. I am a student. Who wants to teach Earthlings anyway? Most of them won’t listen. It’s a “go nowhere” job.
I feel frustrated knowing that the most highly evolved souls, the very souls with the most to share, are swept away from material reality on Earth. When an evolved soul does consent to entering Earth reality as we know it, it is considered a sacrifice by that soul.
Seth channeled several books through Jane Roberts while her husband, Robert Butts, wrote verbatim notes. Seth offered anecdotes about his meeting new arrivals upon their death and how he attempted to meet the new arrival’s expectations as related to the new arrival’s spiritual education on Earth. Seth’s purpose was to soften death’s blow and welcome the newly passed-over soul.
Seth related an experience about a man who expected, upon his death, a battle between good and evil for his soul. Seth met this soul at death's door and acted out the battle because the man expected it.
Few of us could perform satisfactorily in this capacity since the position is unique. It would demand a certain life experience and understanding to accept this type of vocation. However, I certainly would like to view a few of these episodes!
Seth made an interesting statement about the universe as a whole: “There are custodians and maintenance of the universe.” This job is a possibility! It implies many positions similar to maintaining a building or producing a play. I prefer working alone—away from the public. They might allow us a little creativity. I wonder about training…
Dion Fortune in her book “Psychic Defense” mentions her joining a group of professional occultists who gathered for the purpose of protecting and defending nations and Earth from psychic attack. It is most likely that her life experience, or something kin to it would prepare someone such as I for a position in “universal maintenance.”
Speaking of “they,” I wonder who is in charge of hiring decisions. Immanual Swedenborg a “Seer” in the middle seventeenth century explained to us about cities in heaven. Evidently, many contemporary designers applied his basic designs for cities which exist today, the District of Columbia being one of them.
Assuming that these cities are really organizational charts, their design is most interesting. The center of the city is central management, (temples, churches and such), the surrounding locations are for the angels, or middle management and the outlying area is for those souls like myself. I view my position as a “soul in training.” In Swedenborg design, all roads lead to the center of the community similar to spokes on a wheel.
It leads me to wonder if those positions nearest the center of the city are obtainable for those of us who want to learn the ropes. I imagine that many lifetimes are involved for our basic education and experience. It must be the future lifetimes that have the most meaning as far as preparation for between lifetime jobs.
As we gain life experience, I assume that we are promoted to more complex tasks. Now would be a good time to contact the soul who decides who gets which position. I wonder what experience this decision-making soul has and what was involved in obtaining it.
I have a psychic friend who channels for a fifth level soul called “Misha.” Fifth level? I know I’m in trouble! I understand that there are six or seven levels, perhaps more.
Souls at the lower levels, they tell me, are experiencing problems in their education! I’ll admit that I am confused by their methods, but beginning at the bottom level is really distasteful! What if I am considered problematic? How does one repair this type of reputation?
I’m confident that I’m on Earth with permission, but what if my paperwork is lost. Not meaning to be facetious, I am merely preparing myself for a period between lifetimes as a useful citizen of the universe. I would hope to contribute at some level.
In the mid seventies Jess Stern and Taylor Caldwell corroborated on a book about Taylor Caldwell’s possible past lives. (The Search for a Soul, 1972.) She had written several medical historical novels which had benefit of obvious medical knowledge of ancient times.
The two authors wondered how Caldwell came upon the knowledge. Re-incarnation was a possible answer. They were exploring that possibility.
While under hypnosis, Caldwell related her existence between lifetimes. She explained that as a young girl of 15 or 16, Lord Darios, an archangel, approached her as she sat alone in her family garden where she lived in Lemuria. Lord Darios fell in love with her because she was so beautiful! He literally swept her away to his “throne world,” the planet Melina and married her.
Between lifetimes, Caldwell spent her time with Darios at the palace. He, being so busy and much more experienced than she, had very little time for Caldwell. She became bored because of his lack of attention. She fell in love with her teacher, Estanbul, who Lord Darios had supplied to his bride. She followed the teacher from lifetime to lifetime, always returning to her Lord, who she also loved but had so little in common with.
Since I’m not beautiful, it’s not a scenario I have to worry about. However, Darios seems a little shallow minded considering his position of responsibility. Caldwell’s position as wife to an archangel is a bit like being “teacher’s pet” or special privilege.
Spiritual knowledge and experience is not applicable in Caldwell's experience. Hmmm…. Perhaps it’s a situation of poetic license.
Our dream environment is much like our environment between lifetimes. We can control our dream content, though most of us don't. The implications are powerful because our purpose in life is directly connected to learning to use our thought processes wisely.
Dream environments now are literally preparing our path for our new life at the end of this lifetime.
Assuming I can connect with the other side through my higher-self, the next step would be to announce my interest in a position. My answers will most likely come intuitively.
Surely we spend more time between lives than we do in material reality. Planning for any opportunity we might have available to us seems reasonable.
