Title:
The Shinning
Released: 1980
MPAA Rating: R
Director: Stanley
Kubrick
Cast: Jack
Nicholson, Shelly Duvall, Phillip Stone, and
Scatman Corothers
Synopsis: Kubrick's masterwork adaptation
of Stephen King's novel "The Shining" is a marvelous
horror movie that really is more then a horror flick, it's a
psychological study of a man who is pushed to madness by
isolation, and the help of a haunted hotel. Stephen King
himself didn't like this film (because it was a
dramatically changed version of the book), but many others
still enjoy watching this film. In fact, Scott Parsons
remarked that this may be his favorite horror film ever!
When he says that, it must be good. I'm not going to
explain this movie, because everyone knows what it's about,
and if you don't, you should be ashamed of yourself.
Also Look For:
Clockwork Orange, Dr. Strangelove,
and Barry Lyndon
