ARCHIVED UPDATES
4/25/01 Webpage started. It's always under construction. And I mean that, i'll be working on it for probably the next two months hardcore. A lot will be added.
4/25/01 - Ordering urethane rod to make control arm bushings very soon. No one makes them for the 94 - 96 Models because there was a design change in the suspension. The rear suspension changed in 95 slightly. I plan to make a set for myself and Mr. Heavy W.
4/25/01 - In the shop modifying 88-93 lower front end frame brace to fit my 94's 3100 which has a transmission too big for the brace to clear.
4/30 - I've been kinda busy since the last update. I installed a Sunpro Vacuum guage. $18 from murray's, not the highest quality guage but it does the job. I also bought an Autometer Air/fuel guage which I have yet to install. I put a couple coats of red paint on the Z51 bar, which I am waiting for the urethane to arrive in order to make the bushings for it. I got the lower front frame brace on, it gives a mild noticable difference, and it hasn't scraped going over any bumps yet. Look below in the handleing section for details on how I made it fit.
5/2 - After being deemed as "not an enthusiast" when it comes to my car I have decided to prove a certain ignorant someone very wrong. I began my ram-air project, which I have tried many ideas only to be met with near zero success, but I have an idea that could prove to be the most effect ram-air design right after a hood scoop. I will be using the parking light as my inlet. I had to take out the windsheild washer fluid tank and relocate the horn inorder to run the tubing. Also, since i legally need the parking light upfront, I will swap it with the fog light, which is already removed too. Hopefully it will be complete by this evening.
5/17/01 - Several things going on. The ram air was very successful, keep an eye out for instrucions on how to do that very soon. My transmission began to slip horribly a few days ago. Upon closer inspection I noticed a leak from the back side of the transmission. Long story short: bolts were loose and one was missing somehow from the transmission oil pan case and a round shaped cover held on by three bolts on the back side of the transmission. I just did a transmission filter change, cleaned the oil pan out really good, and replaced the missing bolt. I don't think it will be leaking, but i'll drive it around see whats up. There was an O-ring seal on the round peice on the back of the transmission and I think that was the source of my leak. With my lack of spare time that took away from doing a lot of other things. Also, my air/fuel guage is defective. After spending about 3 hours trying to install it about 3 different ways it couldn't be made to work. I'm sending it to Autometer for to be serviced shortly.
5/17/01 - Intake and exhaust sections put in. The ram air install is covered in the intake section.
5/18/01 - Fastchip ECM, appearance, ignition, and lower front frame brace sections added. I relocated the IAT sensor and the hose from the back valve cover into the top half of the air filter box last night. This eliminated my need for that breather filter. I also must say that it looks far better. I'll put pics up of it whenever I get the time. My transmission does not appear to be leaking anymore, and it has definately stopped slipping.
5/24/01- I found out how crappy the polyurethane is to try and machine. It likes to move around in the machine, just think of trying to drill rubber as opposed to steal. My exhaust fell off on sunday... I'm still laughing about that one. I got a new system, cat, tip, and cherry bomb on monday all installed. It sounds basically the same, exactly what I wanted. The 2.8/3.1 throttle I was going to bore broke it's main bolt when I went to take it out, another set back. I should be posting that I can bore out the 2.8/3.1s on the message board at Bnet soon. I sent my air/fuel guage out to autometer for service yesterday finally. I added a bunch more stuff to the site.
5/25/01 - Tons of updates on each section, well, tons if you think that I did all of them in one day, which I did. I got my bright red Z51 rear sway bar on yesterday with 85A durometer polyurethane bushings made in the shop. Addco brackets were used, keep an eye out for picutres and a review of that one soon. I also used a different method to make the remaining 3 bushings for the rear sway bar which proved to be an excellent idea. The lathe is needed to make the initial hole, but the outside shape of the bushing could be formed in under 4 minutes a peice, and it looked very good too.
5/30/01 - Patiently waiting to get into the shop to do that 2.8/3.1 throttle body. New stuff to check out in the intake and exhaust sections.
5/31/01 - Hit counter added.
6/1/01 - Troubleshooting and polyurethane sections added. I knife edged my throttle plate yesterday.
6/8/01 - Other tricks sectoin updated.
6/11/01- Mods section modified. Alteeza section up - the one everyone was waiting on.
6/18/01 - I'm trying out a cold air setup with the cone inthe cavity where I ran the ram air tubing. I went to the track and pulled a disgraceful best time of 15.947. I have repeatedly beaten my friend who pulled a 15.56 though. I also made none of my runs cold, and I was basically using this time to not look like a fool come Beretta fest. I'm glad I got the practice, yet disappointed. I think a 15.5 on a good day is completely possible though. A ton of stuff is happening on my car.
6/21/01 - Happy birthday me. I turned 19 yesterday. One week and counting till beretta fest 2001. All the final projects: mounting the gauges (vacuum and air/fuel), cool fan switch, mounting the front speakers, sandblasting and painting driver side shock tower (its badly corroded), take off lower front frame brace, stopping corrosion on battery terminal, clear out the other turn signal, fix foglights, fix intake for good, mount IAT sensor, get run right again, change spark plugs, get my codes scanned, and hope for the best.
6/22/01 - My gauge pods are half way done. They look pretty decet so far. I'll probably get pics up sometime soon, with a little luck that is.
