LOWER FRONTEND FRAME BRACE
This brace is sold for $22 from GM directly. It fits all Berettas except those with the 3100 engine. The problem is that it does not clear the pan on the 4T60-e transmission. Mine fits now. After about an hour of toying with it in the shop I had modified it to fit just fine. I used an industrial strength press to bend the ends of it 90 degrees right before the bolt holes, then cut the ends off about 1/2" about the bends. Then I took some scrap 950 steal laying around the shop about the same width as the part. I put 2 90 degree bends in 2 peices of that. Then I welded those to the ends of the main peice of the bar. The basic idea is to just lower it so it clears the trans (as you already know). Then I welded the bolt patterns back on the end I had already cut off, and for a little added support, I welded in some triangle peices of that 950 steal where the 90 degree bends are. I painted it black when I was done. This is nothing that you can do at home. I beive my clearence is about 35mm, 40mm is optimal from my findings so far. I have had not bottoming out issues as of yet either.
