MP3 to AIFF Conversion Using SoundApp
SoundApp 2.7.3 is a very powerful freeware player/conversion tool, thats small (only takes up 1.6 megs space!) and often overlooked as a good tool. Download it Here. Worth keeping installed.
Make these Settings for mp3 to aiff:
Convert Menu:
File Format -> AIFF
Encoding -> PCM
Sample Rate -> 44100 Hz
Channels -> Stereo
Bit Depth -> 16-Bit
Then go to Convert->Edit Settings and save that set as MP3 to AIFF and it will always be available.
Drag one or many mp3s to the playlist window, Highlight one to convert, or just click convert all.
Works really well, its fast, and will run in the background okay while converting.
Other settings to make for best ease of use, under Options->Preferences:
General -> Turn on New Untitled Playlist at Startup, Process Sounds in Any Resource, and Ignore Unknown Files
Play -> 22kHz and 512 Buffer, Vol. 100%
Convert -> Append .type suffix, and (important setting) Output Location = Prompt for Existing Folder. Avoids a new Converted Files folder being made by default which can be a pain.
The rest of the settings there are pretty much individual choice, do them however is best for you.
