    Donella Meadows Fellowship to apply systems analysis to fisheries conflict resolution (2003-4)

    The UCSD Joseph Grunwald Award for the Promotion of Inter-American Understanding (2000)

    Loyola Law School Board of Governors Alumni Recognition Award (1999).

    Appointed to the presidential and congressional advisory committee, the Good Neighbor Environmental Board in October 1998.

    Appointed to be a representative of the environmental community for California's Delegation to the Thirteenth Border Governors' Conference in August 1995.

    Appointed Protocol Attaché to the Governor of New Mexico for the Tenth Border Governors' Conference in April 1992.

    Selected by People to People, Citizen Ambassador Program to lead a delegation of U.S. attorneys to the European Community in March 1992.
