Thrash is the official mascot of the Atlanta Thrashers. The 6-foot-3 feathered fellow took the NHL by storm on October 2, 1999. That night, which marked the Atlanta Thrashers' first in the National Hockey League, Thrash set the record for the longest in-arena aerial flight by a mascot when he descended from the rafters of Philips Arena!

Since hatching at Zoo Atlanta in September of '99 Tharsh has flown all over the city to participate in birthday parties, festivals, hospital visits, charity events and his favorite nesting place – Philips Arena – where he takes in all the Thrashers' games.

Thrash is a mascot who is feared by his enemies and loved by his fans. Keep an eye out for him during home games as he loves to make surprise visits from all over the arena. Also, don't forget to make some noise and cheer for the Thrashers when you're at the Philips Arena otherwise Thrash might mistake you for a Panther, Penguin or worse yet, Gnash, his most-heated rival, and make you his next victim!

Thrash and Gnash became bitter enemies at All-Star Weekend in Toronto when Thrash starting pronouncing the "G" in Gnash's name (through an interpreter of course, as Thrash only speaks mascotese). The Atlanta mascot went around introducing the Preds' cheerleader to other NHL mascots around the League in this fashion, thus adding fuel to the fire. The two also are in constant competition to see who has the better in-arena stunts. Ever since then the Atlanta/Nashville tilts have become more than just hockey games ... they've become personal!
