Sikorsky S-16

Igor Sikorsky designed, constructed and first flew the S-16 in 1915

making it the first Russian fighter aircraft.

S-16's were used by the Imperial Russian Air Service for reconnaissance

and as escorts for the giant Sikorsky Ilya Murometz Bombers
