PS2 Neo Key Booting Procedures

PSX and PS2 Originals:
 1. Set the switch of the Neo Key to the left side.
 2. Turn on the PS2 power.
 3. Wait for the Neo Key light to go out.
 4. Insert an original game in the PS2.
 5. Press reset button once only.
 6. The game will boot directly; there is no need to swap discs.

PSX Backup Games:
 1. Set the switch of Neo Key to right side.
 2. Turn on the PS2 power.
 3. The light of Neo Key will flash. Insert the backup game in the PS2.
 4. Press reset button once only.
 5. The backup game will boot directly; there is no need to swap discs.

PSX Import Games (Original and Backup):
 1. Set the switch of Neo Key to right side.
 2. Turn on PS2 power.
 3. Insert a Game Shark 2 (or Action Replay 2) DISC 1 in the PS2.
 4. Press reset button once only.
 5. After a while the menu will appear on the screen.
 6. Select START GAME and press X button to select code.
 7. At select code select WITHOUT CODE and press X button.
 8. When you see "change game disc..." on the monitor, press EJECT button and the tray will move out.
 9. Swap the import game (Original or Backup) in the PS2.
10. Press X button and you are ready to play.

PS2 Backup Games (Domestic and Import):
 1. Set the switch of Neo Key to left side.
 2. Turn on PS2 power.
 3. Plug the Game Shark (or Action Replay) dongle into memory slot 1 of the PS2.
 4. Insert the Game Shark 2 (Disc 1) into PS2, then press reset button once.
 5. After awhile the Game Shark menu will appear on the screen.
 6. Select "START GAME" and press the X button one time.
 7. After that the START GAME menu image will be displayed on the screen.
 8. Select "WITHOUT CODES" and press the X button once.
 9. When you see "PLEASE INSERT GAME DISC," set the switch of the Neo Key to right side and the Neo Key light will flash.
10. Press EJECT button once and the tray will move out.
11. Swap the Game Shark disc with your backup game.
12. Press Eject button again, and the tray will move back into the console.
13. Press X button once and you are ready to play the backup game.

PS2 Original Import Games:
 Will not work. You need to make a backup first.
 Note: An "import" is a game from a region different from the machine's region. If you have a Japanese PS2, US games are "imports" even if you live in the US.

PS2 Backup EA Sports Titles:
 Booting EA Sports titles with the Neo Key External USB ModChip may require patching files such as Paradox ISO patches.  CLICK HERE

PSX Import backups will need to be patched to PAL with Patch it Tool PS2/PSX

The kind of CD-R Media that you use for backups is very important. We recommend the use of a high-quality CD-R media such as Verbatim, Philips Silver Premium, Samsung, BASF or Sony. Green bottom CD-R's may work. Try different media types to find one that is compatible with your console. Burn at 4x speed or slower.
