You Would Too- [Part 6]

Had I read the news a little more faithfully, perhaps I would have been a little less surprised. The day before, zombies had been popping up all over the place, drawn to the places they had been before they caught sick like some sort of deathly homing device.

Why the fuck did he come here? How the fuck did he get here? Why didn’t he go home? Why the FUCK didn’t he go home to his family? He had somehow dug himself out of a grave in Arlington and shuffled his dead, dripping body 60 miles or so to Worcester. I’ve long since tried to figure out the mentality of zombies.

The zombies had been going to their old homes, or wherever they had been before they died, and, if they weren’t stopped along the way, being run over by trucks that tore them to pieces, or caught by someone who wasn’t afraid of taking down a zombie, they would go home and take a bite or two out of whoever they ran into.

It’s amazing how many of them did make it home. I think they all traveled mostly at night. And of course, if you now live in a horror movie reality where there are zombies shuffling around, you do not go out at night. So I could possibly see them all slowly making their way to their destinations. The government has long ago organized ways of rounding up zombies and catching them and all that, but this was at least a couple of days after Nathan had found his way here.
