So much stuff is happening around here that it’s hard to keep up with it all. Last week when we changed our Shabbat dinner to 7:30 p.m. we didn’t have any problems other then ‘glue’ in our lock earlier that morning.
Well, this Shabbat, the 17th of June when I arrived at the Storefront about 7:15 p.m. things looked very strange! There were 2 policemen, 1 policewoman, and 2 military police (with rifles) appearing to be in a high alert mode! Then I noticed that areas were roped off with red police tape.
Upon seeing us arrive the policewoman got on her phone and made a quick call. Strange! Very strange! Who was she calling?
The why it went down, it was obvious that she was following orders. I asked her what was up, and she simply ignored me.
By 7:30 p.m. we were all set up and ready to serve dinner. It was at this time when we began seeing Datim showing up, and showing up and showing up! By 8 p.m. I’d estimate at least 100, by 8:30 at least 500! We (6 men, 5 women, 3 teenagers, & 3 little kids) were completely surrounded!
The mob passed forward, tearing down the flimsy police tape barriers while yelling: Go back to America! Go back to Germany! Dirty Jews! Nazis’! Niggers! White whores! Bastards! And, threatening to send our bones out of Israel in caskets.
The guy with the prayer shawl draped over his head spoke perfect English, saying all of the above plus slandered Jesus left and right. Man, I wouldn’t have believed it if I didn’t see it with my own eyes and hear it with my own ears!
Finally, when dinner was over and things began tapering down we were given a military escort to our vehicles.

Not only did these guys cross the police line, I believe that this time they crossed a line with God!
