Double Teamed!

Today being shuk (market) day, the day when we put used clothes out, and when we experience mega opposition from the Datim. Anyhow, today I had plenty of help! If fact, after dropping them, my two friends, off they were going to run things while I had a down day. I really could use and was looking forward to a day of rest.

As I approached the spot where I usually park the van, two Datim appeared out of nowhere, calling me all kinds of niggers. After parking, I confronted them about all this name calling when they tried to double team me.

Now, the Datim are known for beating up Christians! They know that Christians must turn the cheek. A few years back, they beat up the Russian pastor and a member of his congregation who were passing out Bibles and books in Arad. These two Believers refused to fight back, refused to defend themselves…so called “turning their cheeks”. One of the poor guys got all his teeth knocked out except two.

Well forgive me for defending myself! I landed one solid punch to the right eye of one of the assailants and the assault came to a screeching halt.

I gave the storefront keys to one of my friends, told him to open, and that I was heading to the police station to report what had just happened.

My supposed day of rest was quickly turning into a nightmare. Instead of writing down my report, the police began interrogating me. I arrived at the station 10 a.m. or shortly after and wasn’t allowed to leave until after 6:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, while I was at the police department, a Dati covered with blood, barged into the storefront ransacking it: breaking 10 chairs, 15 coffee cups, 2 venitian blinds, 12 books, and a white board, not to mention the coffee, tea, sugar, water all over the place.

Summary:
1. It seems that the police in Arad are detaining and interrogating Christians whenever we file a report or have false ones filed against us.
2. The Dati that I hit ended up with a small laceration about his right eyebrow which caused him to look like a bloody mess.
3. We later found out that the two Datim jumped up when they saw our van coming and went running across the market square to lay in wait. It was also later reported that 12 to 15 Datim were seen hiding behind some nearby bushes. Hmmm!
4. I was slightly bruised on my left forearm which I took a photo of quickly before God healed it and for evidence.
5. The police have barred me from the storefront for 15 days. When I asked them why, they simply said “15 days or jail”. (I think they’re hoping that the storefront will go belly-up without me there, not a chance!)
6. Was Yeshua (Jesus) giving us a lesson in self-defense? See Luke 22:35-36
