Ein Gedi

In the deserts of Israel, water is a very scarce commodity. It's normal to go from April to October without a drop of rain. But, Ein Gedi has a natural stream that never runs dry. The Bible mentions that Ein Gedi was inhabited with wild goats. In fact, Ein Gedi literally means 'Stream of the Goat'. Would you believe? Wild goats still roam this area today.

The water mysteriously cascades from the top of a cliff forming a waterfall. This waterfall was located in the back of a huge cave. I said, "was" because the roof of the cave has long since collapsed. Evidence of the cave's existence is still apparent. You don't have to be an archeologist to figure this one out.
