The FAI got the Legal Affairs Committee to make a big deal out of discredited hearsay evidence in the Marney saga, yet they remain silent on the biggest scandal ever in Irish soccer: violence AGAINST football fans.

LEAGUE NEWS - "OLLIEGATE"

OLLIE BYRNE OF SHELS FACING PUBLIC ORDER CHARGES.

From the Evening Herald (24 May 2002)

"A case against Shelbourne Football Club's chief executive, Oliver Byrne arising out of an alleged public order incident at the club's grounds was adjourned at the District Court.

Mr. Byrne of Fortfield Road, Terenure, Dublin, is denying threatening behaviour on September 18 last [in a match v Derry City]. Judge Bridget Reilly adjourned the case to October 11."

League of Shame? Should the FAI ask the legal affairs committee to investigate the allegations against the Shelbourne Boss? Or will they stay silent once again? Brendan Menton witnessed the events firsthand, why no action taken by the FAI? Have YOUR say in our fans' forum.
