Doyle signs for Pat's

With one Doyle on the transfer list, Saint Patrick's Athletic have brought in another as Pat Dolan has swooped for Dubliner Robert Doyle.

The 19-year-old has been training with the Saints since English side Blackburn Rovers released him this summer. He has been capped for the Republic of Ireland at under-16, under-17 and under-18 level.

"He has had a bit of disappointment," Saints boss Pat Dolan said. "What he needs to do now is knuckle down and work hard. I think he can do well for us but we won't put him under pressure."

Doyle had spent three years at Blackburn after leaving Bray Wanderers in 1998. Left-back Keith Doyle, meanwhile, is still on the transfer list at St Pat's.
