Well, five of us have just returned from the sunny (yes, sunny!) glens of Scotland, where the weather was stunningly good and a range of fine single malts were consumed. The 2002 Scottish Expeditionary Force consisted of myself (Chris W), Chris Poole, Jon B, Graham and Lars, and the events unfolded thusly....
Sunday, 18th August 2002
Jon, Graham, Chris and Lars arrive in Chester.
Monday, 19th August 2002
Drive north in the Starship Punto and the good ship Hope. Stop at Orchy for a pint. Stay at the Blue Rinse Heaven of the Clan MacDuff and eat in the Crannog.
Tuesday, 20th August 2002
Drive to Eileen Donan. Surprisingly little evidence of Connor MacLeod. Continue up the west coast of Skye to Dunvegan. Eat in a surprisingly remote restaurant known as the Three Chimneys, which probably only appears every hundred years. Stay at The Tables.
Wednesday, 21st August 2002
Visit Dunvegan Castle. Drive south to Talisker Distillery amd then an Otter Sanctuary completely devoid of otters (obviously they are being kept very safe). Back to Fort William and Corrie Choile (sp!).
Thursday, 22nd August 2002
Jon, Graham and Chris investigate the hills behind the b&b. Lars and Chris tackle Ben Nevis, reaching the summit on glorious sun at 3 PM. Swift pint in the Ben Nevis Inn before regrouping back at base camp.
Friday, 23rd August 2002
Take a boat up Loch Shiel under the command of Captain John. Various eagles and deer sighted around the Loch. Spectacular weather. Dinner at Three Pines restaurant served by some guy in a kilt.
Saturday, 24th August 2002
Drive back in convoy seperating at Tebay station. Finally, it rains!

Received fantabulous CD packed with great photos from Pru and Brian, plus purchased book on HTML programming... expect big updates over the weekend, plus a much speedier site (note the stunning optimism).

Proper thumbnails going up (d'oh). England 2:1 up at half time, Germans in disarray. 3:1 in second half, Germans confounded. 4:1 at 8PM, Germans baffled. 5:1 at 8:06, Germans nowhere to be seen. Lars rumoured to have left the country. Message and event boards up.
