Scrap Brain Zone-Act2:Head down untill you see a gap. Jump across, get into the teleporter, head left, drop of a slope and go right, stand on the button to close the door behind you, drop thruogh the next room to the floor, and walf right to a teleporter and when you reappear you'll see the emerald.
Sky Base Zone-Act2:Jump down onto a hoverboard and continue right across more hoverboards untill you reach a blue ship. Jump left onto a hover board and left again onto a platform to pick up the emerald.
MegaDrive
Level Select:Go to the option screen and select the sound test. Play sounds 19, 65, 09 and 17. Now reset the machine and hold down A whilst pressing Start on the title screen. Bingo! You can now go of to a level of your choice.
Turn into Super Sonic:Do the level select cheat then play these tunes on the level select screen: 04, 01, 02, and 06. Select your starting level and proceed to collect 50 rings. Press button B and C together to transform Sonic into Super Sonic.
Starting the game with 14 continues:Go to the option screen and play the folowing tunes: 19, 65, 09, 17, 01, 01, 02 and 04. Next, highlight player select and press Start. You'll now begin on level one with 14 continues.
Debug mode:Enter the level select cheat. Next, enter the following tunes using the Sound Test option on the Level Select screen: 01, 09, 09, 02, 01, 01, 02 and 04. Observant Sonic fans will realise that this spells out the date for Sonic 2sday (24/11/1992), that memorable day when Sonic 2 was unleashed on the world! Select a stage that you want to start from and hold down A and Start. You may notice that the score is scrambled, but don't worry as this won't effect the game. Pressing B will change Sonic into part of the scenery. The A button enables you to go thrugh the objects, so you may place anything from a spike to a ring on-screen, selecting C willplace the chosen object in the game. If you want to return to the game just press B.
Master System/Game Gear
Sky High Zone:A lot of people have found controlling the hang-glider tricky. However the main thing to remember is to take a run up as this gives you more lift when you're in the air. Keep pressing left on the d-pad and release, as this makes it easier to reach the next platform safely. Remember that the faster the pace your travelling at on take of, the further you'll go in the air. Also try not to press left on the d-pad too frequentlt(unless you're falling) as this slows you down.
Level Select:To activate, first make sure your machine is turned of. Plug your control pad into port 2 and press up, left diagonal and buttons 1 and 2 simultaneously. Turn the console on and, keeping all the aformentioned pressed on your joypad, wait untill Sonic runs completely across the screen. Let go of the buttons and plug the controller into port1, press button 2 twice and the level select screen will appear.
Level Cheat:First plug your joypad into port 2. When the Sega logo disappears, press up, left and both buttons on the joypad and slowly count to twelve. Now hold down, up and right and count to five. Press up, left and the two buttons again. When Doctor Robotnik goes off the top right of the oval, pess up and right until both Sonic and Tails appear. Plug your joypad into port 1, press button two and a level cheat will appear.
Extra Lives:Start by going to the Sky High Zone Act 2, and go to the bottom of the level and pick up the invincibility TV. Jump onto the ledge above it, go right across the spikes and pick up an extra life. Now go away and come back and the life will be there again. Repeat this to gain as many lives as you require.
Chaos Emeralds:There are six Chaos Emeralds to be found altogether; the first five are located in the second Act of each stage.
Emerald 1-You'll come across this one at the far top right-hand corner of the level.
Emerald 2-This one's the hardest to locate as it's conceald high in the clouds. It's a matter of trial and error as to which clouds can be jumped on and which can't. The emerald is located at the right-hand side of the level again.
Emerald 3-When you have entered the maze, turn left. Continue left thruoghout the maze, and you'll eventually enter a room containing the Chaos Emerald.
Emerald 4-Go right untill you reach two consecutive springs. Jump on each one to gain enough height to land on the tower (located right of the springs) and pick up the Emerald.
Emerald 5-Go over the conveyor belts and up the slope. Just before you reach the top, jump left into the wall. You should now be in a secret room. Turn left, up and right to reach the jewel. You will also discover a couple of extra lives along the way.
Emerald 6-Defeat the evil Silver Sonic to collect the final Emerald, then it's on to the ultimate confrontation with Doctor Robotnik.
Sonic The Hedgehog 3
Bonus Stage:For a bonus stage, enable the Level Select, then play tunes 01 and 0F. Finally, highlight stage and hold A while pressing start.
Debug Mode:Enter the Level Select code, then press A and Start to choose your starting level. Once the action starts, press C to create an item, B to toggle between items and A to select the items.
Easy Emeralds:To gain all the Chaos Emeralds enter the Level Select code then highlight "Special Stage" and press C and Start. After reeiving the Emerald, press A and Start to repeat the process untill you have them all.
Extra lives:Get to the first level of the Launch Base Zone. Set off the first alarm, stop Sonic in the middle of it and do a Spin-Dash attack. The flybots will continue to attack and eventually their value will increase to 10,000 points. Every five flybots will gain you a life and, if you're patient enough, you can earn up to 99 lives.
Extra rings in Debug Mode:Enter Debug Mode and select a stage. Next press B and A (you must have Sonic and Tails on-screen.) When your cursor changes into a ring, paste it onto Tails. Repeat this process and you can gain up to 900 rings and several tasty 1-ups.
Level Select (standard method):Immedietly after the Sega screen apears , Sonic will charge at you in his ball-thing. While he's doing this quickly press up,up, down, down, up, up, up and up. Nice. Although timing is crucial.
Level Select (other method):This cheat requires a Sonic 2 cartridge. Insert Sonic 2 and enter the Sonic 2 Level Select (play sounds 19, 65, 09 and 17). Return to the title screen, hold A and press Start. To transfer this to Sonic 3, hold A and carefully remove the cartridge without turning off the MegaDrive. Insert Sonic 3 and press Reset. Finally, release A and press down twice at the main menu.
Play at night:Enter the Level Select cheat, then press C and Start to choose your starting level.
Random starting location:Enter the Level Select cheat and choose a level. Pause the game and press A to return to the Level Select menu. Opt for another level and you'll start in a different area.
Slow Motion:First enable the Level Select. While playing, you can pause the game and press A to restart, B for slow motion and C for frame advance.
Sound Test:Enter the Debug Mode, then press up at the main menu to reveal the Sound Test option.
Super Sonic:To become Super Sonic without getting all the Chaos Emeralds, first enable the Level Select and Debug Mode. When the game begins create a power-up box. There should be an S on the box. Jump on it to grab 50 rings and become Super Sonic.
Super Tails:Enable the Level Select, then press down to make sure you have the sound test (don't select it yet). Start a one-player game and choose Tails in the data select screen. When the game timer apears, press Reset. Enter the sound test menu and choose any zone. Hold A and press Start. You should become Tails in Debug Mode. From here press B then press A untill you see a box. Press C to select it then press B to return to Tails. To enable Super Tails, jump on the box. Tails will look weird and cannot be hurt or loose any rings. he can still get squashed and drowned though, so be careful in the Ice Cap Zone. Oh, and Robotnik can hurt him at the very end of Launch Base Zone Act 2.
View Animations:Enter Debug Mode and press B and C. You'll be treated to a view of Sonic and Tail's moves.
Sonic & Knuckles
Bonus Rounds:To play the bonus rounds at will, insert any (MegaDrive) game into your Sonic and Knuckles cartridge. When the "No Way" message appears, hold A,B and C and press Start. If you've done things right, you'll gain immediate access to the said bonus rounds.
Hyper Sonic, Knuckles or Tails:Connect your Sonic and Knuckles cartridge to Sonic 3. Collect the first seven Emeralds before you make it to the Mushroom Hill Zone and then, after that, pick up the seven Super Emeralds before you make it to the end of the Lava Reef Zone. Now just garner rings and jump twice for some super speed stuff.
Level Select:When your on one of those lift type things in the Mushroom Hill Zone press left, left, left, right, right, right, up, up and up. When you hear a ring noise press Start and hold A, don't let go of A untill you have pressed Start on the tital screen that apears.

Level Select:Go to the option screen and press A, down, B, down, C, down, A, B, up, A, C, up, B, C then up. Now go to the title screen and hold down A, and press Start to warp to level two, B and Start for level three and C and Start for level four.
Bonus Points:Press A, B and C while the game is adding up your total score. You'll get an extra five million after the first boss, and an extra ten million after the second and third boss. These extra points will also help you gain additional lives.

Knuckles Chaotix
Botanic Base:Making your way thruogh this beautiful forest is pretty easy untill you get to level four. Here, you need to go through a door in the background to reach the second part of the level. Press up on the d-pad to enter and find the next door and press up on the d-pad again to exit.
Techno Tower:Step into the future and find your way through a labrynth of of switches which you must hit in order to reach the the next part of the maze. On reaching level 3, go to the uper right-hand corner, until you get to a dead end. Jump to the left, and you will reach the exit.
Marina Madness:Ship ahoy! Make use of the platforms on the boats, for jumping to higher levels. In every level of this stage there will be a boat containing a yellow switch. hit the switch in order to move the whole level up or down, otherwise your be dizzily going round in circles forever!
Amazing Arena:From this point on your in for a tough time! Start by locating the flashing coloured switch on the right wall, to activate a nearby clock. This will now open up walls that lead to other parts of the level.'Boosters' will help project you and your partner in different directions, so make use of them. Jump into the mouth of the second and biggest vacuum you see, to transport you to the next levevl.Levels 2, 3, 4 and 5, again contain switches, springs, boosters, vacuums and capsules to help you through. Remember you can get yourself out of sticky situations by climbing up walls or throwing your partner up to platforms to reach the top.
Speed Slider:Follow the paths through balloon filled levels in this crazy carnival stage. Locate and hit the red spring in level one, continue, and this will take you to a bonus round.Once out of the bonus stage, hit the yellow and blue springs and continue, till you reach the clear sign.In levels two and three, follow the paths and hit the coloured springs. theres also a second bonus stage. When you see an elevator, use it, otherwise you'll be running round in circles. Beware of the unlockable door in level four. try as you might, you won't get through, so go the other way instead! Keep your eyes peeled for a red saucer-shaped teleporter which takes you through a wall to reach the exit. In level five, there are more elevators and springs! Again remember you can throw your partner up platforms and climb up walls. Continue, till you come to a hole in the ground which is big enough for you and your partner to fall in. Once through the hole follow the path.

Sonic is the fastest of all the racers. He's so fast that he almost lifts off the ground when he runs,
so take care when cornering or you might miss the turn! Sonic has excellent jumping ability too.
