Housing Your Bunny

On this page you will find information about how to house your bunny comfortably, whether it will be a house bunny or it will live outside, there are a few things you need to consider.

Small Breeds

Small rabbits such as the Netherland Dwarf require a smaller sized hutch than a larger breed. I suggest that the hutch should be a minimum of 3ft, any bigger would br fantastic.

Medium sized breeds

For a medium sized breed such as a Holland Lop, I recommend a hutch at the minimum size of 4ft. They are larger than a Netherland and require more leg room. Even though, a run is still required for exercise, this concerns all rabbits.

Large sized breeds

For larger breeds such as a French Lop, it is recommended that you have a hutch that is no smaller than 8ft in length. Frenchies and Flemish giants are large rabbits and require plenty of room. A cramped unhappy bunny can lead to muscle wastage and an impaired digestive and respiratory function.
