Levi's Diary

July 2001

• MONDAY 23rd JULY 2001
• Today is my last day at the shelter, I over heard my minders talking about it as they cleaned out my pen. I was hoping that my new Mummy & Daddy would be the couple who came to see me 3 days ago and to my delight, it was. The journey home was quite scary as I was placed in a cage that was inside a large box on wheels and I felt sick. When we got home I was allowed to sniff around the living room and stretch my legs and leave presents whereever i went hehe. I am really pleased with my new hutch, it is very big and I can stretch out, it just about makes up for the fact that my Daddy hasn't built a pen for me and the other bunnies who were already here. Well anyway, after a little snuggle with my new mummy i went back to my hutch and ate some hay before going to sleep, I have a feeling that i am going to like living here and cant wait to see what tomorrow brings. Oh well, speak to you soon, good night!
• TUESDAY 24th JULY 2001
• This morning I found out that my Mummy doesn't just have a love for us bunnies, it seems she loves cats too and she has 3 of them. This morning as Mummy fed me breakfast these big furry meanies sauntered out behind her and ran over to my cage door. They sat there and watched me eat my food and they weren't very friendly. The ginger and white 1 is okay I suppose but Mummy shoo'ed them away before I could sus them out. Mummy had to go to work today so I relaxed in my hutch and nibbled on the apples she gave me and snoozed. I was let out in the living room again today and left my mark hehehe, Mummy was mad. I saw her get out this big blue thing that makes a loud humming noise which ate my presents, I was only showing my appreciation. Daddy found out it was fun trying to catch me to go in my hutch, I prefer to be free! In the end I let him catch me because I felt sorry for him. When i got back to my home, there were carrots waiting for me so i was sort of glad I was caught. Rest of my day was spent lazing about and playing
• SUNDAY 29th JULY 2001
• Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....!!!! Found out today that there is a new addition to this household and it isn't a rabbit. When my mum went to the RSPCA shelter to adopt me, she also adopted a kitten and it came home on Friday, although I didn't get to see it til today. I hate him, he chases me because he thinks I am a cat and he is so hyperactive. Bunny kits are never that excitable! Anyway, I want to forget about him and jot down what I did today. It was really really warm so mummy put a frozen water bottle in my cage and it kept me cool, my old owners never did that for me, they just let me sweat. Had no carrots or apples today as we have run out, so I ignored mummy when she came to pet me. Well, thats all that happened today as i sulked and slept and ate, I will write some more in a few days when I am in a better mood.

August 2001

• WEDNESDAY 1st AUGUST 2001
• I met one of the other rabbits today and he seems to find me attractive. Mummy put me on the table next to him, his name is Misty and he isn't neutered like me, I was neutered at the shelter and mummy isn't sure she wants the other two neutered as she may want to breed one of them so she can always have a part of them when they are gone. To be honest she hasn't got room to be a proper breeder. I hope mummy doesn't try to bond me and Misty because he bosses me about and tried to mount me, DOESN'T HE REALISE I AM MALE!!!! Mummy said today that I poo more than any bunny she has ever known and has to litter train me, I wonder what that entails? Mummy treated me with a few dandilion leaves and a handful of raisins and I was happy and content for the rest of the evening. Good night now, will speak to you soon.
• THURSDAY 9th AUGUST 2001
• It has rained the past few days and it has depressed me no end. I still get to bop about the house and chase the cats but I don't feel my usual self when it rains, oh well! We still haven't got a pen as mummy need the money before they get the wood and wire fencing, they refuse to use chicken wire because they have heard bad things about it. They are afraid that we might hurt ourselves and plus it's not very strong. i have been wondering what this squeaking noise is that I have been hearing since I have been here. Today i found out it was a little guinea pig called Buddy and he makes a hell of a noise. he has been living with Magic the albino lop for the past few days because mummy broke his water bottle and she knew they were good friends with each other. Considering it is raining again, i think I will snooze for the rest of the day. Take care all!!
• FRIDAY 17th AUGUST 2001
• Not wrote for ages because nothing much has happened, I love living here but nothing interesting ever happens. I just cannot wait til our pen is built up and I can frolick to my hearts content. It's been a lot sunnier since I wrote last and it has been very hot, mummy found a good tip on Rabbits Only to put frozen water bottles in our cages and we can lie next to them to keep cool, it really works. Mines melted a bit now! Oh well, thats all I am going to wrote today as it is too hot to do anything. Bye!!
• SUNDAY 19th AUGUST 2001
• Mummy put an advert on the internet about selling the guinea pig, as she groomed me last night, she was telling me that she wanted to keep him but because she devoted most of her time to us bunnies she was afraid he could not get as much attention as he deserved. She wants him to go to a lovely home where he will either be the only pet who have another guinea pig pal, that will be nice for him. I didn't get a run in the house today as mummy was busy, but she did come out and spend time with us and fussed us, i am still a bit shy and usually runs away but I like her being there. Nights are starting to get cooler so mummy covered us over when it started to get dark, she also heard a forcast it could rain. Night all, not sure when my next entry will be, but I look forward to writing it.
• SUNDAY 27th AUGUST 2001
• Mummy has found a new home for Buddy and they came today to collect him. She let the family take his cage and gave them some food, a small block of sawdust she never used and his bowl and new bottle. It was a sad farewell as we will all miss the litter fellow but he will have a happy time being fussed by his new mummy and daddy and their 3 children. We were all silent for the rest of the day as we wanted to reflect on what had happened and remember Buddy. A new entry will be here soon.

SEPTEMBER 2001

• SATURDAY 1st SEPTEMBER 2001
• Mummy and daddy moved our cages so they are facing the house. That way she can see us while she is going about her everyday jobs and we can see her, and also because she is getting us ready for the pen. She thinks we will have more space to run if she puts us this way, it also protects us better from the weather as the house now shelteres us from the rain and shades us. First of all they need to sort out the over flow as there is a small drip and it annoys her, it falls right into our pen to be. Bye for now, there will be more pen updates in a few days.
• MONDAY 3rd SEPTEMBER
• Mummy bought a red leash and harness home from the petshop today. She had read on Rabbits Only that some bunnies have to be trained to use it, but neither us bunnies minded it at all, it mean't we could play outside and sniff new surroundings. All the neighbours were watching as if mummy was mad but she doesn't care what they think, as long as us bunnies get treated well. Later this evening all 3 of us bunnies talked about our little trips out on the leash, i hope my nest trip is soon, it was so much fun. I am too excited to write anymore, have a nice day. Ciao!!
