Imbolc is the time when the Goddess finally recovers from her giving birth, and the God begins to grow in strength. Green life begins to stir beneath the frozen earth, and the world itself begins to awaken. Imbolc is a fesival of fire, in celebration of the Irish goddess Brigid. Traditionally, witches light candles to ward off the remaining darkness, and begin the spring cleaning of their homes.
