At the time of Litha, the Earth is in full bloom. The God is at his verile peak, and the Goddess is heavily pregnant with his child. Litha divides the year, as it is the longest day and the shortest night. This is a time to celebrate abundance, fertility, and the bounty od nature. This is also the best time of the year for handfastings (weddings), rituals with "male" orientations, and for workings of empowerment.
