Lughnasadh

Also called...

This sabbat is the time of the first harvest, the time when the days row shorter and it is time to gather the crops and prepare for the winter. It is named for the Celtic god Lugh, lord of light. This is a time to bake bread, count your blessings, and give thanks to the goddess for her gifts. Any rituals you perform this during this time are meant to involve a thank you prayer to the goddess, using the fruit from your harvest. It is also usefull to use the fruit and vegetables from your rituals in next year's planting. Traditional foods of this time are bread, blackberries, acorns, apples, cake, and cider. A good traditions is also to make a figure of the god out of bread.
