The saga started with an injured Vegeta landing on Planet Freeza. Vegeta dropped out of the space pod unconscious, the doctors there than quickly rushed him to rejuvenation tank. Vegeta quickly healed and was told that Freeza, who is supposedly the most powerful in the universe, was going to Namek for dragonballs. Vegeta never thought that Freeza wouldn't find out about the dragonballs, so it would be easy to get them. But still thinking he had a chance he raced into a space pod and left for Namek. Kui, who dislikes Vegeta, followed him to Namek to stop him. | Krillin and Gohan are trying to get to Namek, but using an ordinary space ship would take way too long. So when Mr. Popo heard this, he explained that Kami told him previously about the space ship he had come to earth in from Namek. Luckily it was still functional and could get to Namek in a short period of time. Only Gohan, Krillin and Bulma went to Namek while Mr. Briefs (Bulma's father) helped Goku by rebuilding the saiyan space pod Goku came in. In a few episodes Gohan, Krillin and Bulma crashed on a planet that they think is Namek, although actually not. The "Nameks" there had read their minds while they were unconscious and made the planet to have seven dragonballs scattered around the world. They were planning that while the earthlings are looking for the dragonballs the space ship they came in would be all repaired and they can finally leave the planet, leaving Gohan, Krillin and Bulma stranded. When Gohan and them woke up they really thought that this was Namek (the two aliens there also dressed themselves like Nameks) and began to look for the dragonballs with the help of one alien, while the other fixes the space ship. In the end the aliens finally reveal themselves, and left Gohan and Krillin to battle squid-like monsters. Luckily, Bulma was able to stall the aliens until Gohan and Krillin were finished with the squid-monsters to deal with the aliens. So they left the planet in their ship with the two aliens still stranded on the planet, this time heading for the real Planet Namek. After a few minor events (about Goku and a floating mirror ship) Gohan, Krillin and Bulma finally land on the real Namek. They also see Vegeta land and Kui land at the same spot. Then two of Freeza's henchmen arrive to take care of them. Although Gohan and Krillin were able to easily defeat the two henchmen, their space ship was destroyed, so now the are stranded on Namek. When Vegeta got out he found out that Kui has followed him here. Kui thought that he could easily defeat Vegeta, but when Vegeta powered up (a trick he learned on earth, to raise and lower your power level) Kui got really scared. So he tricked Vegeta in looking behind him and started blasting wildly at Vegeta, Vegeta easily dodged them and when Kui tried to run away, he blew him up. Meanwhile, Gohan and Krillin are spying on Freeza as he robs a Namekian town of their dragonball. After Dodoria, one of Freeza's most powerful henchmen, demolished nearly the entire town except two Namek kids, Gohan was so mad that he couldn't take anymore. Gohan kicked Dodoria in the face, which sent him flying into a building. Using that time Gohan and Krillin flew away with one of the Nameks named Dende (the other ran away, presumed dead). Dodoria chased after them but with the solar flare attack Dodoria never found them. On his way back, Dodoria saw Vegeta with a scouter! Since all the scouters were destroyed by the Nameks, bringing one back to Freeza would be really awarding. But when Dodoria commanded for it, Vegeta just dropped it and stepped on it. This got Dodoria really mad and charged after Vegeta. Vegeta then easily put Dodoria in a weird-kind of lock. Dodoria in great pain offered to tell him the real reason of his home planet, Planet Vegeta's doom, and if he would let go and not kill him. Vegeta agreed. Dodoria explained that Planet Vegeta wasn't really destroyed by a meteorite like Freeza told Vegeta, but Freeza himself that did it. Although Vegeta appreciated knowing the truth, he killed Dodoria anyway. After killing Dodoria, Vegeta used his new ability he learned from earth to sense peoples power levels to find another Namek town with a dragonball. Vegeta easily defeats the Nameks and steals the dragonball. For safekeeping he hid the dragon ball in the water. Vegeta then met Zarbon (another of Freeza's more powerful henchmen) and began to fight. At first Vegeta was whipping Zarbon really badly, but Zarbon has the ability to transform. And in Zarbon's transformed state he is much stronger, even strong enough to defeat Vegeta, which he did. Zarbon reported back to Freeza, but Freeza liked Vegeta (don't ask) and demanded Zarbon to bring him back to Freeza's space ship to be revived in a rejuvenation tank. Luckily for Zarbon, Vegeta was still alive and was put into a rejuvenation tank. After the doctor looking after Vegeta was making fun at him on how thrashed he was, Vegeta enraged busted out of the rejuvenation tank breaking everything and fully revived. Knowing that Freeza has five of the seven dragonballs, Vegeta finds them and throws far away so Freeza won't find them. Zarbon flew out to find Vegeta, but Vegeta was smart and swam away. Back on earth, Korrin gave Goku Sensu Beans, which healed him completely. Now completely healed Goku left for Namek in the space ship Mr. Briefs has been working on. Since there is a gravity machine on the space ship, Goku is able to trains a lot to be ready to defeat Freeza. Meanwhile, under Dende's directions Krillin reached Guru's place. Nail (a very powerful Namek) was also there watching after Guru. Guru helped Krillin by giving him the dragonball he has and powering him up. While Dende stayed at Guru's, Krillin flew back with the dragonball to tell Gohan to get his power increased by Guru. At the same time, Vegeta found where he threw all the balls and gathered them into a little crack in the mountain, when he saw Krillin flying back with the last dragonball. Vegeta decided to follow after Krillin, Zarbon then saw Vegeta, so he followed after Vegeta. Although Vegeta knew Zarbon was following him, Krillin didn't know anyone was following him and was leading them to Gohan and Bulma. Only when Krillin reached Bulma (while Krillin was away Gohan used the dragon radar to get the dragonball Vegeta hid in the water) did he realized that both Vegeta and Zarbon was following him. Zarbon first dealt with Vegeta and asked where all the dragonballs Vegeta stole were. Vegeta didn't answer so Zarbon started fighting. Zarbon was of course losing in his original form, so he turned transformed. But Vegeta explained that every time a saiyan gets defeated, the saiyan gets much stronger, and so Vegeta was still able to beat Zarbon. Vegeta finally won by blasting a hole in Zarbon's stomach. He then commanded Krillin to hand over the dragonball. Krillin knowing that he can't defeat Vegeta hands over the dragonball. Vegeta in a good mood to have all seven dragonballs didn't hurt Krillin, but did hurt Gohan when he ran into him, for the heck of it. Vegeta then went to look for the dragonball he hid in the water, and when he couldn't find it, he knew it was Gohan that had it, when he ran into him. Vegeta was right; Krillin and Bulma were really depressed that Vegeta had all the dragonballs, but when Gohan arrived with one they were happy again. Krillin, Gohan and Bulma then moved to another spot because Vegeta knows where the previous one was. It was lucky that they did, for Vegeta was now really angry and looking for Gohan to kill. Gohan and Krillin than went to Guru to get Gohan powered up. They were nearly there when Vegeta arrived. Krillin stalled Vegeta, while Guru powered up Gohan. But than suddenly Vegeta sensed five extremely powerful beings called the Ginyu Force coming to Namek. Vegeta starting to panic and ordered Krillin and Gohan to hurry up and get the balls for the wish, before the Ginyu Force come and kill everyone. Krillin and Gohan not knowing what to think try to gather the dragonballs anyway. Just as they're about to put Gohan's dragonball with Vegeta's, when the Ginyu Force arrived in front of them. The 5 people are Guldo, Raccoome, Burter, Jeice and Captain Ginyu. Vegeta and Krillin tried to destroy the dragonball they're carrying but with Guldo's psy ability he froze time and stole the balls from them. Captain Ginyu left with the dragonballs for Freeza, while the rest of the team is supposed to kill Vegeta, Gohan and Krillin. First Guldo fought Gohan and Krillin quickly mercilessly shot huge energy blasts at him. With the help of Guldo psy powers to freeze time, Guldo escaped. But Gohan and Krillin just kept on shooting more shots. So Guldo decides to use his most powerful attack, Mind Freeze. The attack froze Gohan and Krillin not making them able to move at all, Guldo was ready to finish them off by ramming a stick though them. But at the last moment Vegeta swooped in and cut off Guldo's head, of course killing him, and making Gohan and Krillin able to move again so they can dodge the stick. Raccoome then stepped up after enraged that his friend has been killed. Vegeta then began powering up and launched a huge attack against Raccoome while Gohan and Krillin just watched. After that large an attack everyone thought Raccoome was dead, but Raccoome was still alive and whipped Vegeta really bad. Vegeta was about to die, when Gohan and Krillin saved him. Gohan and Krillin tried to defeat Raccoome but he was much too powerful and soon Vegeta, Gohan and Krillin were all nearly dead. Goku then finally arrives on Namek, and after giving a Sensu bean to everyone, including Vegeta, he easily defeats Raccoome. Jeice and Burter then a little scared thought that together they might be able to beat Goku. At first Jeice and Burter tried to scare Goku by flying really near him, but that didn't work. So then they started to really fight, but Goku was much too strong and beaten Burter really bad. Jeice being the wimp he is flew away to Captain Ginyu for help. While Vegeta, now much stronger, came in and killed Raccoome and Burter. Captain Ginyu and Jeice then arrived. Vegeta agreed to help Goku with the battle against Captain Ginyu and Jeice, but at the last second he flew away with Gohan and Krillin to get the dragonballs. At first it seemed that Captain Ginyu was much stronger than Goku, but when Goku powered up, Captain Ginyu went crazy. But then Captain Ginyu remembered he had the power to switch bodies! He did so but not until he beaten himself up! So with Goku in Ginyu's thrashed body and Ginyu in Goku's strong body, Ginyu flies back to the dragonballs. At the same time, Krillin and Gohan got the dragon radar from Bulma and found the dragonballs next to Freeza's ship buried in the dirt. They dug them up, and tried to call the dragon. But it didn't work, and was wondering why. All while this was happening; Vegeta had changed his clothing and was watching for them to say the password. All of the sudden Ginyu and Jeice arrived (remember: Ginyu is still in Goku's body), at first Krillin thought that Ginyu was Goku, but Gohan knew it wasn't him. And when Goku in Ginyu's body came to warn them about Ginyu, Gohan and Krillin fought Ginyu. Amazingly, Gohan and Krillin were actually beating Ginyu, and when Jeice tried to help Ginyu, Vegeta killed him. But Ginyu began to get used to Goku's body and got much stronger, even with Goku's help Ginyu was beating Gohan and Krillin. But when Vegeta began to fight with Captain Ginyu and win, Ginyu wanted to switch bodies with Vegeta, putting Vegeta in Goku's body. Luckily, Goku jumped into the way just in time, and got his old body back. Ginyu then tried to switch bodies again with Vegeta, but Goku threw a frog right on time and made Ginyu switch bodies with the frog. With a frog's body Ginyu is unable to switch again, and the frog in Ginyu's body hopped away. Since Goku kind of saved Vegeta, Vegeta helped Goku by putting him in a rejuvenation tank. He helped Gohan and Krillin by giving them saiyan armour to wear. But since Vegeta hasn't had a nap for a long time, he was very sleepy so he took a nap in Freeza's ship. Gohan and Krillin used this time to get Dende to call the dragon. Meanwhile, Freeza was trying to get the password out of Nail, and beat him really bad. Nail then explained to Freeza that he was just stalling him while the earthlings made their wish to the dragon. Freeza then quickly raced back to his ship. Vegeta also saw the dragon and raced to it hoping to get his wish before Freeza arrived. Gohan had already wished Piccolo back to life and to Namek, when Vegeta arrived enraged. Dende was just about to make Vegeta's wish for immortality when Guru suddenly died, forcing the dragon to also die. Freeza then arrived enraged he didn't get his wish and tried to kill Vegeta, Gohan and Krillin. In his first form Vegeta was as powerful as he was and with the help of Gohan and Krillin Freeza panicked a little. But then he also has the power to transform multiple times to get much stronger. So Freeza transformed to his first form, which Vegeta was no match for. Freeza then rammed one of his horns right through Krillin, dropping him in the water. Gohan saw this and got really mad, he powered up and began beating up Freeza with all types of blasts, and as the finisher he shot a Masenko. Although Freeza was quite hurt, he wasn't dead and beat up Gohan for revenge. Luckily Dende has the ability to heal, and heals both Krillin and Gohan. Meanwhile, Piccolo was traveling to the battle scene when he saw the greatly injured Nail. Nail offered to fuse to become stronger and Piccolo agreed. Now one, Piccolo and Nail races to the battlefield. Krillin's effective stalling allows Goku to continue to heal and Piccolo to arrive. Since Piccolo fused with Nail he is now much stronger than Freeza in his first form and beats him up a little. Freeza than transforms again. In Freeza's second Transformation he is much stronger than Piccolo and starts beating him up a lot. Gohan seeing this, gets really mad again, shooting another Masenko, this much stronger. The Masenko hurt Freeza a bit, that he decided to transform again to his perfect form. While Freeza was transforming (it took quite a while) Vegeta came up of a idea to make Krillin beat him up, then make Dende heal him to become a lot stronger. It worked, and Vegeta started fighting Freeza in perfect form. But Freeza was still too powerful for Vegeta and Vegeta got killed. But until he explained about his past and asked Goku to defeat Freeza. Goku and Freeza then started a long hard battle, but it was clear Goku was overpowered. Goku was about to give up when Vegeta urged Goku on. Goku then made a spirit bomb while the others distracted Freeza. Goku then launched it at Freeza but missed. Freeza, angry that it could have killed him, took out his anger on Krillin, killing him. His friend's death enraged Goku. Then for the first time Goku turns Super Saiyan. As a Super Saiyan Goku is much stronger than Freeza and thrashes Freeza good. But then Freeza triggered the planet to explode in 5 minutes. Freeza then kept on shooting fireballs making sure Goku dies if he has to die. Goku escapes to Freeza's ship and tries to start it, but it doesn't and the planet blows up. Meanwhile, everyone killed by Freeza is revived (with earth's dragonballs) and is transported to earth. But it seemed that Goku was on earth, so that meant he was still alive. But when they wished him to earth, it seemed Goku didn't want to come to earth. It was true for Goku was saved and brought to Planet Yardat to be taught to teleport. A year later King Cold (Freeza's father) that Freeza has been killed and his body is floating around space. He orders his henchmen to retrieve the pieces and rebuild Freeza. They do this and Freeza is in a way brought back to life. Then after Freeza explained about Goku and Super Saiyans, King Cold and his army travels to earth. King Cold doesn't believe that a Super Saiyan is more powerful than he, and wishes to challenge him. When they arrive on earth, everyone is extremely frightened, but then saiyan suddenly appears. His announces his name is Trunks. He turns Super Saiyan and destroys King Cold's entire army and cuts up Freeza. King Cold enraged that Trunks has destroyed his entire army and Freeza, lunges at him. But Trunks shoots a Burning Attack killing him. He then says he was waiting for Goku, everyone thinks he's crazy but doesn't dare say so. Then all of a sudden, Goku appears. Trunks then tells Goku to turn Super Saiyan and he starts attacking Goku, while Goku blocks every hit. Trunks then explained it's to test if he's really Goku, and he really is. They start talking about Super Saiyan and Goku showed Trunks his new teleporting technique (which is also how he got back to earth). Trunks then explains to everyone that he is the son of Bulma and Vegeta and he is from the future. He came back in time to warn everyone about the androids that will be coming in three years. Trunks also says Goku will be suffering from an incurable heart disease. But luckily in the future, a medicine was invented to heal the heart disease and gives it to Goku. He told everyone to train hard until the androids appear. He says he will be coming back to help them against the androids. Then he left in the time machine he came in. Everyone then began to train as Trunks had told them to. | |||
