Tintin books are available in two different forms (that I know of).

1. The most common form is single alblums. They are 11 inches and 6/16 tall, and 8 inches and 7/8 tall. The pictures of the books above are this type of Tintin books.

2. The second type of Tintin book form is a three-in-one. Each book of that type have three Tintin single (1) books in one book. These books are hard covers and are smaller than the single ones. They're good for book shelfs. That is a picture of one, below. That one has Tintin in America, Cigars of the Pharaoh, and The Blue Lotus in it.

THE FIRST TINTIN BOOKS
There are two other Tintin books that weren't shown in gallery on top of this page. These two books were the first two Tintin books Herge made. They are not shown in back of Tintin books because they weren't easy to find and cost a lot for a long time. They used to be very rare.

The Land of the Soviets is Herge's very first Tintin book, and it's in black and white. It was a very rare Tintin book that was very hard to find and even harder to pay for! Basically there were only 500 signed and numbered copies. So thats all there were of these Tintin books and they were completely out of print. But then in March of 2003 they finally started reprinting them and now they are for sale on amazon.com along with Tintin in the Congo.

Tintin in the Congo is the second Tintin book. Luckly, there are some in English. The first version is in black and white, but the newer version is in color. I know about the black and white version because I have one! Mine looks just like the picture above. Mine is black and white, hardcover, and has 120 pages. It's interesting to reading the old version and owning it is great.

So there are 23 Tintin books.

Tintin and Alfa-art is by Herge, but is incomplete. Herge died--unfortunatly--before he could finish this book. It's a pidy, really. But guess what? Now there's a completed version of it too -- I was so excited to find it! It looks just like any other Tintin book with 62 pages, except the drawings aren't by Herge. It's based on his unfinished version and it's in English. The whole book is on line at The Unknown Tintin.tk When you get there click on "Tintin and Alfa-art to read the finale 24th Tintin book! :-) But hey, don't forget to come back to my site when you're done!

Tinin and the Lake of Sharks is based from a Tintin movie. That book is not by Herge, and it's pretty obvious. The background is weird and not like the real Tintin books and there's about half as many pages. Also two new characters are added: a girl and her brother who help Tintin out. They make the book seem like a children's book, so that's not good.

There are other books that are Tintin related. Tintin and the World of Herge is a good book to read for Tintin fans. It is very informational. It is about Tintin books and Herge. It's a must-read.
