Stage 5 : Geometrically Speaking...
The advantage to working with a 18" x 18" x 10" box is that you can draw it life-size and carry the plan along with you sans problem. It was difficult to believe that the geometry which worked on paper would work on real life. But it did! It took me three weeks to develop confidence in the accuracy of my measurements and drawings.
Above is a side view of another one of Studbert's predecessors. The resemblance is striking but there are major differences which include alterations to the string guides, back door and front ball guide. Geometrically, the drawing was adequate as a template for the lexan base, wheel attachment and linkages.
Once the body of my machine was settled, I was able to work on the geometry of more specific parts such as the piston-actuated back door.
