training...

A lot of champions have the same common story about first slipping on the gloves and knowing they would be a champion someday. Me unfortunately, I can not share them same feeling, I started my boxing carrier just based on the fact that I loved it, I didn't know how far boxing would take me, I just wanted to have that feeling of raising your hands in victory, but it was not accustomed for me to have same common story, I have a unique one because I lost my first amateur fight. I honestly even had thoughts of quitting! But something, something inside told me to stick it out and work as hard as I can to win my first fight, so I did!

If I was told to run a mile, I ran two; if I was told to do 100 sit ups, I would do them till they hurt!

I would make goals to myself to be the first one in the gym, and the last one out.

When I train I look back at that feeling I experienced that day from losing my first fight and I say to myself, "that will NEVER happen again!" That horrible feeling made me who I am, made me a former 4 time National Champion, and now a up and coming professional prospect.

When training for a fight everyday before I walk into the gym I have to think of one thing that is positive before entering the doors. The majority of the time my positive thought would be my Family, Friends, and Fans.

When It is cold outside or raining I have days where I don't want to go out and do my road work, but I say to myself, 'I know its not raining where ever my opponent is!' and that motivates me because I cant let them positive people down.

There's days where I feel down and my day is not working out, but when I go to the gym, it makes me a new person.

There's something about boxing and training that makes me feel good about myself and gives me a understanding that when I win, its not just me that's just winning, them positive people celebrate with me.
