w3rd. Once, me and a few friends craned out like more than a dozen Pokemon dolls from a "loose" crane game (the claw actually had a strong grip! OMG) on some New Jersey boardwalk (Point Pleasant). I believe they were selling them in stores, at that time, for about 10-15 bux. --- •~• •¦• Nottingham •~• •¦• ‡‡ "Living rooms of America, do you catch my drift? Do you dig?" ‡‡ |

I got hooked on them this summer while waiting for some Japanese students I took to Waikiki to go shopping. Had a pocket full of tokens, saw the machine and thought I'd give it a try. Got addicted to it and fortunately the machine wasn't heavily packed. I left with about 5 pretty nice medium sized bears which I gave to the girls when I met up with them. I think I spent about $10 in all, and my friend said he saw the same thing at Sears for $7 each, so it worked out pretty well for me that day. Another day I went back, spent the $20 I changed into tokens and left with 9 toys. Should've been ten, but the last bear got caught on other toys that were overhanging the chute; and the workers refused to give it to me citing some lame excuse that I have to drop the toy a certain way. (what the **** do you mean "drop it a certain way"?! The claw opens, it falls, I can't control that!)
But to balance it out, the next day at another arcade (if you ever visit Ala Moana Center, be wary of the Jungle Fun machines,) I spent $40 in two days and walked away with only three toys.
Problem now is the students have long since gone back home and I'm still hooked on the games. I gave away the crappy little ones with some things I unloaded on eBay this past month. Fortunately there was a Toys for Tots collection drive recently, so I donated the rest of them to that...in fact I played this past weekend to get more toys to donate. :) Got two nice dogs (maybe about 10" tall) for about $5, though half of that was spent trying to get a third one. Sure, I could have just gone out and bought some toys, but where's the fun in that?

i'm an expert at these crane games. just ask me and i'll send you a pic of all the ones i've won out of it, just a portion of them at least. the ones at wal-mart are never rigged, you just have to know how to play them well. and with the ones at wal-mart, you push the button and hold it for however far you want the thing to drop. unlike some where you have to go up then over and then drop. you can move it anywhere and drop it slowly or as fast as you want to. one time there was one sitting right on top so i just took the thing and knocked it over, got it, and then won another one. as you can tell i love these games. --- (_(V)_) (_) (_(-)_) (_(V)_) (_) aim- sandra9810 msn- sandra9810@hotmail.com email- sandi678@bellsouth.net site - www.geocities.com/sandra_172/ |

no mechanical bulls are usually not free to ride, although we do have one over here in a bar that was free to ride(the bar is now defunct but i heard it reopened under different people who knows if the bull is still there or not), when it was working, you usually find them in bars, so if you want to ride one try going to a country/western type bar(think john travolta's urban cowboy) i would recommend the activity for anyone, its very fun and the bull's speeds can be adjusted so anyone from kids to experienced people can ride them, i would just make sure the person who is running the bull seems to know what they are doing, cause if they dont, then the bull can hurt you, make sure they dont try and turn the speed up on you either, you wont like that very much, especially if its your first time riding you can find them in other places too, county fairs, carnivals sometimes and places like that, county fairs are pretty likely places to have them
