We regularly stay in Agia Pelagia, also because it is not too far from the airport and we prefer not to spend the last day or days in busy Heraklion. So we have already seen a lot of hotels and apartments. We were in Attalos once before, around the year 2000, but in the meantime it has been renovated, refurbished and a swimming pool has been added. In 2021 we went back here again, also because of the good reviews that the complex gets on the Booking site and we were pleasantly surprised. The owner Antonis is enthusiastic, welcoming and has a sense of humour. We were able to collect the key from his son Akis, who went to inspect the apartment before we could go in and even asked if he could help with the suitcases (but we never have one, only hand luggage). |

We were immediately impressed by the cozy swimming pool that is located next to the reception. The apartment also exceeded our expectations. Everything spotlessly clean, lovely beds, great showers (with toiletries included such as shampoo, soap and shower gel), good wifi. It made us happy on our last day of the holiday. Usually such a last day is not fun, but now it turned out to be a very nice day that we enjoyed. Instead of visiting the beach we decided on sunbathing by the pool and in the evening we went to eat on the beach at the taverna of Antonis called which is called Bravo. We had never been there before but again our expectations were exceeded both in terms of food and in the cordiality of Antonis and the other people who worked there. Featuring an outdoor pool with sun loungers, Attalos features self-catered accommodation with a balcony and free WiFi. The beach of Agia Pelagia with bars and restaurants is only 300 m away. Simply yet tastefully decorated, all studios and apartments are spacious and air-conditioned. Each has a kitchen with a mini fridge and oven with hobs. A flat-screen TV, wardrobe and desk with mirror are included. Staff at Attalos Apartments can arrange car rental to visit the city of Heraklion, at 17 km. Nikos Kazantzakis International Airport is at 20 km, while the seaside village of Fodele and its sandy beach are 10 km away. Free public parking is possible nearby. A few meters from the main beach, the shops and the restaurants you can find Zorbas Studios and Apartments. All the rooms in this complex have satelite tv, airconditioning, a kitchen, a safe box and a balcony with table and chairs. Some of the rooms have a sea view and some of them look over a quiet little street. Zorbas has also got and internet corner exclusively for its visitors. Prices in 2006 start at 28 euro for a studio and 30 euro for an apartment in low season. We visited here many times, last time in 2017. All rooms have had an upgrade with new kitchens, new bathrooms, new furniture, and some balconies had been enlarged. |

Agia Pelagia is a cosy little village that has still got that feeling of authentic Greece, even though it is only 22 kilometers away from the capitol Heraklion. It's the perfect spot to have your holidays, away from all the noise and convieniantly situated to make trips and excursions to the sights of Crete. Agia Pelagia has a couple of very nice beaches. Irini Apartments is situated in the center of the village, at about 50 meters from the beach. On walking distance you can find everything that you need (shops, bank, pharmacy, bars, restaurants). The complex is two stories high with 6 comfortable and large apartments, big enough for 4-6 persons. One of the apartments has a very large balcony (footballfield size) overlookig the sea. I have seen all of the apartments personally and they would all make me happy. Each apartment has a bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom with shower and toilet, a kitchen, a livingroom with 2 seperate beds and a private balcony. Each apartment has comfortable chairs and a couch, a dining table, a safety deposit box and airconditioning. The prices at Irini are low and I can truly recommend this place! Irini also has a restaurant downstairs. It's especially easy if you want to have breakfast and you don't feel like walking a long way before you can have your coffee.

We stayed here in May 2019. The welcome was very friendly, with a welcome drink and a snack, and the suite we had booked was spacious and clean and had a beautiful view of Agia Pelagia and the sea. The complex is within walking distance of the sea and the boulevard with the restaurants (5 to 10 minutes walk), but you can also have breakfast or a meal in Sunday Life itself. The wifi was not super. For the money we paid it was certainly not bad. With a panoramic view of the sea and the village of Agia Pelagia, the Sunday Life is just a short walk from the beach of Agia Pelagia. It has an outdoor pool and a restaurant that serves innovative Cretan cuisine. All rooms overlook the sea, the Bay of Agia Pelagia and the hotel’s swimming pool. In-room comforts include free WiFi. The bathroom comes complete with a make-up mirror and a hairdryer. In the morning guests can enjoy a Cretan continental breakfast including fresh fruits, pancakes, yogurt with honey, feta cheese and homemade jams and bread. The restaurant serves home-cooked local dishes using organic products grown on site. The hotel bar offers a great variety of cafes, drinks and pastries, as well as herbal drinks. Guests of the Sunday Life can enjoy drinks and sunbathe at the outdoor swimming pool. Situated in the centre of one of the most beautiful bays on the eastern coast, the picture-perfect resort of Agia Pelagia is just 18 km from the capital’s port and 20 km from Heraklion Airport.
