This lovely intimate villa is situated on a hill near the seaside resort of Almirida. We stayed here in September 2008, September 2009 and September 2011 and we absolutely loved it. It is a place you want to return to (and so we did...). The villa is cosy and comfortable and the views from the terraces and the pool are fantastic. Sophia's House was not hard to find.

Sophia's House has everything you could wish for: amazing views from the terraces and the pool, a beautiful bathroom, a living space with comfortable couches, a dining table and chairs and three bedrooms with extra large extra comfortable beds with loads of pillows. The beds were over two meters long because I could fit in without any problems and without my feet sticking out (yes people, I am a tall, tall guy). Two of the bedrooms have patio doors to the outside terrace and the pool. Sophia's House is excellent for people that like a quiet and peaceful villa with a pool that is not overlooked. It is also suitable for people that like to see lots of trees, small birds and the blue sea. I loved this place because it felt so homely and everybody was feeling so happy in it. The kitchen is excellent and so I cooked many meals here inspired to enjoy them while looking at te view. Sophia's House makes you want to buy your own villa on the island. As a bonus there is a whole row of dvd's that you can watch. Not only dvd's about Crete but also documentaries and movies.

Sophia`s House (villa crete) is found on the beautiful island of Crete near the small village of Aspro (white village) which is located in the Apokoronas region of the north west coast of Crete. Close to Almirida and built upon a hill, Sophia's villa not only offers a high standard of accommodation but also affords spectacular views of Almirida, Souda bay and Crete's White Mountains. The villa is only 15 mins gentle walk to Almirida's beaches.

Sophia`s House offers a high standard of comfort and quality and is an ideal property for either couples or families of up to 6 persons. The villa offers you 80 metres of living space all on one level and an outside private swimming pool, upper level sundeck and private parking area. In the large double aspect living area you will find a beautiful corner seating unit, coffee table, TV with DVD, CD HIFI with MP3 player socket, patio doors lead straight out onto your own private pool terrace. The living area is fully air conditioned (no extra charge for this). In the fully equipped kitchen you will find fridge/freezer, electric oven with ceramic hob, dishwasher, washing machine plus the usual small electrical appliances that you would expect in a quality rental property such as coffee maker, toaster, kettle, microwave, steam iron and board. There is a marble topped dining table with 6 chairs

Bedroom 1 - double bed with 2 matching bedside cabinets, dressing table, stool and mirror , wardrobe offering both hanging and draw space, air conditioning. Patio doors leading to the covered outside terrace and then to the pool area. The views from this bedroom are to Souda bay and you can watch the ferry boats plying the water from the comfort of your bed.
Bedroom 2 - Twin beds with bedside unit wardrobes with both hanging and draw space, dressing table, stool and mirror. This bedroom is also air-conditioned. The patio doors lead to the outside covered terrace and pool area.
Bedroom 3 - Twin beds and a bedside unit, dressing table stool and mirror. Wardrobe with hanging and draw space. Air-conditioning. A Patio door leads to side of the property.

Outside There is a large covered terrace with traditional Cretan blue table and chairs, this covered terrace leads to the open terrace where you will find the infinity style swimming pool- private for your own use. To the side of the swimming pool there is a further terrace with pergola (for shade) and a gravelled garden area, with car space. The pool terrace is completely private and is not overlooked. There is an outside staircase which leads to the upper sun terrace area which has the most outstanding views across the valley below to Almirida, Souda Bay and the ancient, deserted, village of Agios Vassillis. The upper terrace is fully tiled.

Villa Sophia's House is situated in the Apokoronos, which is a little to the east of Chania, next to the Akrotiri peninsula. It is situated a short drive away from the village and the beaches of Almirida, where you can find the sign for Aspro and Gavalochori. You drive to Gavalochori and after a little while you will see the sign for Aspro. At this sign you turn left towards the small village of Aspro and at the fork after that (you can choose to go left or right after about 150 meters) you take the left side road up the hill, drive around the small church and then make a left side curve. At the end of the road you find the villa and this is where you can park the car. When you come from the direction of Gavalochori than watch out for the "Aspro" sign on your right hand side.
