Ampelos is a beautiful small village high up in the mountains in the north of Samos, just a few kilometers south of Agios Konstantinos. The village is stuck to the mountain Karnouvi. You reach it over a beautiful road through a forest with pine trees. There are a couple of nice churches in this village, a few tavernes and a couple of shops, but also lots of wiring, cables and electricity poles. The village church dates from 1672. There are beautiful views as you drive up the hill to Ampelos and great views from the village itself.
Apart from the forest there are wine grapes, fruits and olives grown in this area.
The donkey on the picture we met near Agios Ioannis.
