The beach of Tersanas is situated on the Akrotiri Peninsula (about 13 kilometer north east of Chania to which it is connected by bus - the bus stops in nearby Chorafakia). It consists of a couple of small sandy beaches around a small bay, and there are a couple of umbrellas and sunbeds for rent. In the surrounding there are a few small hotels and pensions. Next to the beach there is a taverna and of one of the small beaches there is a cantina where you can get something to drink. Tersanas used to be the harbour of the village of Chorafakia, which is situated a bit more inland and where you find most of the facilities (1 kilometer north of Tersanas beach). Close to Tersanas there are two other nice beaches Kalathas (3 kilometer) and Stavros (4 kilometer).

Close by the beaches of Tersanas in the village of Chorafakia there are a few shops and some more tavernas. Like on all the other beaches on the Akrotiri peninsula it can get more busy during the weekends when the people of Chania use their free days to spend some time on the beach. In Tersanas there are different kinds of accommodations: hotel rooms, studios, apartments and villas.

The Tersanas Taverna is located near the beaches of Tersanas. It's a nice place with a nice view of the bay and beaches. You can order seafood, but also other Greek dishes. We order the Tersanas salad and the meat platter for two. The salad comes with two different delicious sauces, the service is friendly.

Creta Vitalis offers rooms and self-catering accommodation overlooking the small bay of Kalathas, just 150 meters from its sandy beach, and around 12 kilometres from the amazing town of Chania.
