From Paleachori are beautiful coastal walks with stunning views of nature, the sea and several islands of the coast of Samos such as the Fourni islands and the island of Ikaria. On clear days you can see more islands. A path leads to the monastery "Moni Agios Ioannis Eleimonas" but only at the beginning of the trail there is a sign and after that you can go several direction or you can just get lost. Along the coast you'll see some beautiful small beaches where you wish you could sit, but they you cannot get to them unless you have a boat or if you're a goat. We just missed on the monastery (which appeared to lie behind the next corner) but the walk in this area was very beautiful. The pictures above of the beach with the house with the red roof is supposedly the 250 meter long beach of Agios Ioannis Eleimonas. It is secluded and quiet and an option for swimming in naturist style. I read you can reach it - but I couldn't tell you how. It seemed impossible to me. The monastery is close to the beach and you can reach it by foot via a small path - or so I am told.
Remember to bring a large amount of water with you if you decide to make a walk here.
