Elia beach is situated in the south of the island of Mykonos. It can be reached by bus from Mykonos Town in about half an hour, or in 45 minutes by kaik from the village of Platis Yialos. Elia Beach probably the best beach of Mykonos, with a nudist part and a mixed part (naturists and dressed up in swimming outfit next to eachother). Elia Beach is also the largest beach in the chain of beaches in the south of Mykonos. The beach is sandy and there are sunbeds and umbrellas for rent. Another excellent beach in the southeast of Mykonos is called Kalo Livadi Beach. This one is not serviced by the boats that leave from Platis Gialos but it is probably about the same size. For beauty this beach competes with Elia Beach. The difference is that there is no naturism allowed on this beach.

Elia Beach used to be my favourite beach, because of the relaxed atmosphere and the quality of the beach itself. But more and more people seem to find it nowadays, and the relaxed atmosphere on Elia Beach is slowly fading away. Elia Beach is less crowded than the overrated noisy and packed Paradise and Super Paradise beaches, partly because it is much larger. It has a couple of restaurants and some major expensive hotels. On this part of the island of Mykonos there are also some private villas for rent. The connections to Elia Beach are rather poor and limited and especially going back by bus after a day of sun can be a total crime! Next to Elia beach you will find another quiet and good beach, Agrari. Agrari Beach is smaller than Elia Beach, I estimate about one third in size, but this beach too is nice and sandy and on some places of it there are beachbeds and umbrellas for rent. On part of the beach naturism is allowed. Between Agrari Beach and Elia Beach there are two more tiny beaches where there is room for naturists.
