The village of Klima is located in the south of the district of Heraklion, a couple of kilometers north of the small town of Timbaki. It lies at a 140 meters altitude on a hill and overlooks the sea and the Paximadia islands. Klima is surrounded by fields with olive trees.
There are a little over 350 people living in the village. The village square of Klima is dominated by the large Kimisi Theotokou church which is built in the shape of a square with a red cruciform roof and a dome in the middle. It has a large 4-storey high bell tower.
Not far from this church are the remains of a church that dates back to 1874, of which now only some external walls remain. The village is a mixture of refurbished and well maintained houses next to the ones that have fallen apart. There is also a World War II memorial and there is a water source in the form of lion heads, probably after the idea of Venetian water sources in the village of Spili, but the water source of Klima dates from 1995.
