There are so many beaches on Paros, it's hard to mention them all. A big part of the southcoast and the south eastcoast of the island of Paros consists of beaches, but also in the west between the cliffs you find some beaches (one of them with palmtrees even). In the north are the beaches of Santa Maria and Kolybithres (with a beautiful rock in the sea). Chrissi Akti is a small coast-village with a big beach. There are a few hotels and some restaurants. It's not very big. Chrissi Akti means 'Golden Beach'. They say it's the best beach in Paros, and it's populair with windsurfers, because of the high waves and the wind. Allthough it is indeed a very good beach, personally I prefer the more quiet small beaches. According to the guides the best beaches are all to be found in this area, but in the south there are just as many, just as good, and they are more quiet. Besides the big main beach of Chrissi Akti you will find plenty of more beaches in the direct surroundings. The coastline between Piso Livadi and Chrissi Akti is very beautiful. We visited in may when it was still quiet and there were lots of flowers everywhere. On the walk you will find all kinds of beaches, some very quiet, some with beachchairs and more commercial like the beach at Punta (not to be confused with Punta the ferry-harbour in the southwest of Paros). Some beaches have almost no waves and around the corner you will find another that does.

On Paros there is supposedly a naturist beach a bit north of Parikia (the capital) called Krios. Never been there though. Close to Santa Maria (north) we found a naturist beach (don't know the name, it can be reached via a path fron the lighthouse and from the neighbouring small "normal" beach and you can see Naoussa on the opposite side when you lie on it), and in the south between Aliki and Pounta there are many small beaches and it is so quiet we took our clothes off everywhere we liked. One of them is a larger beach at the end of an asphalt road somewhere in the middle, another larger one is called Makria Myti. The other option is to take the small ferry or kaik to Antiparos where it is naturists' heaven. No umbrellas or facilities anywhere so bring your own water.

Above are the pictures of Livadia Beach, which is one of the two large beaches in the capital Parikia, the other one being the one in the centre close to the ferries. Livadia is a long stretched and sandy beach which consists of different parts. There are parts with or without the beach chairs and the parasols and there are trees on different places so you can lie in the shade. Along the beach are tavernas and restaurants to choose from if you want to have a refreshment or something to eat. Just a little south of Parikia are the two sandy Parasporos Beaches: one small beach and one large beach (see pictures below). The last one has one taverna on it where you can rent sun beds and parasols and the rest of the beach is quite unspoilt. It is favorite by some people because of its high waves. On the smaller beach just over the hill there are also tavernas and you can rent sun beds and parasols as well.

Beaches in the north of Paros in the Cyclades, Naoussa, Santa Maria, Laggeri, Kolybithres Beach

In the north and north east of Paros there are several other beaches, of which Kolybithres is maybe the most picturesque because of its rocks in the sea. It is a cultivated beach with sunbeds and parasols and it can get crowded sometimes because it is used by the visitors of nearby Naoussa. Naoussa itself does have a beach but it gets windy there very often so usually it will be quite empty. Other beaches in the north are populair Santa Maria and the naturist beach of Laggeri with its two islands in the front. Laggeri is like a dune landscape with a beach at the end. This beach is usually pretty quiet. As you drive around or make walks in the area you will see more beaches, some of which are used as naturist beaches.

The beaches and naturist beaches south Paros in the Cyclades: Faranga, Alyki, Makria Myti Beach

In the south of Paros around the village of Alyki you will find a number of nice beaches. Not only are there two nice beaches inside the boundaries of the village of Alyki, but within walking distance you will find several others, like for instance Makria Myti (on the west side towards Pounta) with its one sandy beach and several small sandy coves surrounding it. At a 10 minutes walking distance you will find the next sandy beach (without a name) and after that more small sandy coves. On the other side of Alyki you find what is my personal favorite beach, the beach of Faranga, with one large beach with a beach bar (closed in May) and over the hill there are 3 more beautiful, quiet and sandy beaches. Two of those are quite big and one is small. The last beach is the best beach of the three. No facilities here, just like in Makria Myti so you have to bring your own water. The last beach has a cave where you could find some shade if you like and if you are lucky enough to find the place empty, in all other cases maybe it is wise to bring a parasol for protection against the sun.
