Picolo Restaurant Parikia |
Opposite the windmill in the busiest part of town, exactly where the ferries depart. The people that work here do not care if you develop roots and they leave you unattended to. Coffee is extremely expensive and it comes half cold. No smile, no hello, only attitude. They would prefer to see you in the next door establishment. The toilet has a strange door and it is pitchdark, no light, no seat on the toilet, but probably dirty as well. A little bit further down the road opposite the bus station there is another coffeeshop with better seats and better and cheaper coffee. On the picture here I asked my friend to look asif he really loved the place and at least that put a smile on his face, but for us this was a once in a lifetime experience. Our verdict: AVOID Picolo Restaurant and go anywhere else :(!! |
Yiannoulis Taverna Parikia |
Now this is a good one and a cheap one. Yiannoulis Taverna is situated in the harbour of Parikia a little bit north of the spot where the ferries sail in and out, about where the parking and the bus station is. The food is simple and honest with delicious pitas, crepes, souvlaki and several other dishes and salads, and the service is friendly and fast. Our verdict: good, 8,5 out of 10 |
Port Cafe in Parikia |
Nice seats and good coffee, and also lots cheaper than in the stuck-up place right opposite the ferries. Our verdict: good, 8 out of 10 |
Melinos Taverne in Alyki - Paros |
Melinos Taverne is situated on the boulevard of Alyki (south of Paros). They serve all sorts of grilled meat, fish and salads. We ordered a Greek salad, meat balls and a chicken souvlaki. Friendly service. The food is nicely spiced, the chicken is tender and the french fries are crunchy and good. Besides that it is all very cheap in this taverne. Our verdict: good, 8,5 out of 10 |
Marina Café - Alyki, Paros |
Nice small café on the boulevard of Alyki, where you can have a drink in the evenings. You get different kind of small things to eat (nuts and things like that) when you order something here. Our verdict: good, 8 out of 10 |
Konstanza Restaurant Café - Naoussa, Paros |
Restaurant café on the left side of the main road leading to the large church in the village of Naoussa. They serve sandwiches, breakfast, ommelettes and all sorts of snacks. Friendly service, clean, beautiful toilets ;). They serve Segefrede coffee which tastes good. So does the club sandwich that we ordered. Our verdict: good, an 8 out of 10 |
The Balcony Taverne - Alyki, Paros |
This is a large restaurant in the harbour of Alyki, actually combining two restaurants next to eachother. One specializes in fish, the other in grilled meat. We tried the tiro kafteri (cheese with red - hot - peppers from the oven), saganaki shrimps, lamb chops, the beetroot salad and the rosé. The bread came in one piece and was fresh. Everything tasted okay, although we heated up the lamb chops at home the next day because one of us got sick while in the restaurant (no, it had nothing to do with the food, ahah). The one minus was the rosé, which was not rosé but some local wine looking like rosé. To us it tasted like petroleum. Our verdict: good, an 8 out of 10 |
Onar Cafe - Parikia, Livadia Beach, Paros |
Onar Cafe is situated at the end of the road leading towards Livadia Beach in Parikia. They serve ommelettes, salads, crepes, sandwiches, breakfasts, coffee and snacks. The coffee is nice and strong and comes with a glass of water, the club sandwich was okay and so was the yoghurt with honey and nuts. Nice and quiet spot with a view of the beach and the sea. Our verdict: good, an 8 out of 10 |
