Polichnitos is the main village in the district around the close east side of the Gulf of Kallonis. It is a buzzing, lively but friendly village that offers a health center, pharmacies, a school, good supermarkets, a petrol station, plenty of tavernas, and a stork on top of the chimneys of an old factory. In Polichnitos are also the crossroads to Mytilene, Kallonis and several nearby beaches and villages like Skala Polichnitos, Nyfida and the beautiful beach of Vatera. Everything is closeby. In the area, which is very green with pinetrees, there are plenty of opportunities to make walks.
