The quite large village of Posidonia with its churches and summerhouses is situated amongst the beaches in the southwest of Syros and looks out over the Finikas Bay. The distance to the capital Ermoupolis is 13 kilometer. In the village there are a number of accommodations where you can rent a room and there are a number of tavernes where you can eat or drink something. Possidonia is on a good busroute and has a regular connection with Ermoupolis (there is about a bus every hour heading that direction from the capital). The beaches in Possidonia are quite small but better beaches like Galissas and Agathopes Beach are nearby. Agathopes Beach is situated at the edge of the village and this is quite a pretty and sandy beach where you can rent sunbeds and umbrellas.
