THE BEACHES OF MYKONOS - THE BEACH OF PSAROU ON THE ISLAND OF MYKONOS IN GREECE |
Psarou Beach is a very nice beach between Platis Yialos and Mykonos town, about a ten minutes walk from Platis Yialos. The approximately 150 meters long beach lies well sheltered in case it's windy and the sea is shallow, so very safe for families with small children. Psarou Beach is an organised beach with sunbeds and unbrellas and several shops, tavernes and accommodations in the vicinity. Renting a beachbed and an umbrella can be extremely expensive here, so inform about the price before you lie down. You can also practice watersports and there is a diving center on Psarou. The beach of Psarou is on the bus route from Mykonos Town to the village of Platis Gialos. The distance to the capital is about 4 kilometer. You have to climb down a path to reach it. I personally think this is the nicest beach, but since you are not allowed to swim without clothes there, we usually only go to it if the evening before has been 'very heavy' and we wake up too late, or we don't feel like walking the ten minutes more to Paranga beach :). Because the bay is so well-sheltered you can often find the most beautiful yaughts anchored there. FOR HOTELS, APARTMENTS AND STUDIOS ON PSAROU BEACH - CLICK HERE. |
