You will encounter lots of old houses and narrow streets in the authentic Greek village of Sikounta. It's situated just above the north side of the Gulf of Geras. The large church in the village seems to have a new concrete tower. In front of it there are a couple of springs where you can get fresh water. Here and there you can see the concrete shells of new buildings. It's very quiet in the backstreets. It's just an ordinairy village on Lesbos with many places where you can get your fresh water supply, and a square that is in the shade.
