Villa Filitsa is a beautiful old historic stone house that is situated in Kefalas in the Apokoronas district, close to Georgioupolis and Vamos. The villa is open all year round! The oldest part of the house dates from the Venetian times and other parts have been added to the house through history. It has been carefully and beautifully restored by Canea Properties and the house is a historic monument. It was once used by the Turkish general commander of Crete. There is a private pool with the property. The villa sleeps 10 people in two bedrooms, two lofts and one separate apartment.

The swimming pool of the Villa Filitsa is set in the garden at the back of the building. It is a descent size, fenced off, private, and in a nice and quiet position surrounded by lush thick green grass. In the grass there are comfortable sunbeds and there are umbrellas. You are not overlooked from the apartments. There are some trees, flowers and some bushes. We were visited by lots of small birds during our stay, including kolibri's, and while we were there we had the whole pool to ourselves.

The Arches Suite has 3 Venetian bows that are 5 meters high, and is in the oldest part of the building. It has a bed at mezanine level, a sitting corner and a dining area. This apartment is suitable for 4 people.
There is a full-size iron bed on the loft level and a full-size sleep sofa in the living area. The bathroom is located under the loft and the kitchen, with dining table and is to the right of the living area.

The Harem suite was just that. It was used by the original owner, the Turkish General Commander of Crete, Mustafa Pasa and his wives during their stays in Chania. The Harem Suite is 120 m2 divided over three floors. This space was once the place of the harem of the Turkish general. In the upper living space there are twelve windows with a view of the sea. This apartment is suitable for 6 people. There is a loft with a full-size iron bed, a queen-size sleep sofa in the living area and another twin beds on the ground floor.

The Venetian suite was originally used as the café for the area near the Villa. There is a large kitchen / dining area which is also equipped with a full-size oven and refrigerator, air conditioning and there is a very beautiful shower stall (for two) in the bathroom. The fireplace where Greek coffee simmered in the ashes is now a decorative and extra-ordinairy feature with a bed in it, looking at the ceiling which goes all the way to the ceiling. This open plan suite has a full-size iron bed and accommodates two people.
