Kampos or Kambos and Votsalakia beach (one long stretch - two villages next to eachother on the beach) in the southwest of Samos consists of a considerable number of restaurants, hotels and houses on a road. I thought this place looked a bit touristic with all its accommodations and tavernas (and more because of the signs than because of the tourism level), but it is more quiet than for instance Pythagorion. Most of the accommodations are pretty small and intimate and there are no really big hotels in Votsalakia village. The village of Votsalakia actually has a different name, which is Kambos Marathokambos, but since the hotel Votsalakia opened here the name Votsalakia is more frequently used. People come here to relax and to enjoy the sea and the beach, and to eat nice food, but not so much to party untill late at night. There are some nice bars and cafés but there is no heavy nightlife in Votsalakia.

The southwest of Samos, where Votsalakia is situated, is one of the nicest parts of the island, and the tourism level is not very high here compared to some other parts of Samos. Votsalakia is situated at the foot of the Kerkis mountain and in the village you will find all the facilities like ATM machines, a car rental, supermarkets, a bakery, tavernes and some places where you can find a bit of evening entertainment. The beach of Votsalakia is long and sandy with a few pebbles and the water is clear. On some parts of the beach you can rent parasols and beach beds, but not on the whole stretch and since the beach is pretty large (3 kilometer) there is always enough room for people. The large beach is is "divided" into two in the middle of it where you find some rocks and after that there is another small sandy beach. From Votsalakia is the road / path to the Cave of Pythagoras, one of the sights of the island. You can get there on foot but it is also possible to take the car (until you reach the stairs). Next to Votsalakia is the more quiet village of Ormos with a couple of tavernes, a few small accommodations, the fishing fleet, a beautiful church and the village pebble beach, which is followed by another large empty pebble beach.
