A long time ago, one family lived in the village. They had five people in their family. The father was the head of the family, and he was a very good hunter. One day, he went to hunt with his dog alone in the forest. On that day, he got two deer and one pig in the forest. He brought one deer with him back home. After he got home, he told his family go to the forest to pick up the deer and pig where he had dropped them off. When the family returned home, he was dead.
After he died, his family became poor, and nobody helped to find food for them. The family was living far from the city, and only the father knew the way to get to the city. When the father died, the family members didn't know how to move to the city because they had never been there with the father. The family was very lonely in the village.
Six months after the father died, one day the wife was very sad, and she cried and cried. She looked out the window, and she saw a big bird flying from the mountain. The bird came and landed on the window sill, and it said to her, "Stop crying. I came to help you and you should be brave." She stopped crying and the bird told her to take out 3 of its feathers, and these feathers could be food for them for a week. Then the bird would come back again to help them. If they wanted food, they just had to put those feathers into a pot or pan, and it would make any kind of food they wanted.
One week later, the bird came back again, and he told them to do the same thing that they had done before, but this time he wanted them to take 5 feathers and these were going to help them for two weeks. After two weeks, he came back again and he told them to take 7 feathers, but this time the family wanted to be rich, so they took almost all his feathers, and they let him go. When the bird flew to the top of the tree, he said to them that he was a generous bird that God had sent to help them, but he knew that they were not good people, and he wouldn't come back to help them anymore. The feathers that they took from him this time were just ordinary feathers. There was no magic in them.
This story teaches that if you want to get more, you will get less. If you want less, you will get more. Also this story tells you to be nice, kind, and friendly to the people who really want to help you.
